Hours: Domino Sugar Yonkers has a long history of over 110 years of producing sugar on the banks of the Hudson River. The refinery receives over 540,000 tons of raw sugar annually, which is unloaded by floating cranes and stored in large warehouses before being refined into more than four million pounds of sugar each day. The sugar is then shipped out in bulk or packaged to food makers and grocery stores. The refinery employs more than 300 people and supports an additional 138 jobs through trucking, cargo handling, and ship piloting. Visitors and delivery drivers generally find the staff friendly and helpful, often going out of their way to assist. Although the entry roads can be challenging, deliveries are often quick, with drivers noting the tight spaces and tricky access points. Inside the warehouse, waiting times vary, and some mention the cold environment during unloading.
