Not happy! I was out shopping and stopped in at 6:30 to buy lottery tickets. The guy behind the counter just shook his head at me and said no. I asked if he was closed because I thought they were open until 7. The young man told me, "We're open until 7 but I shut the lottery machine down early!" Really?? So I ended up on the other side of Tuckahoe Road at another store. I will, from now on, buy my tickets at this other store.

No, this is not Value Drugs but they've used their name and made it look just like it - lots and lots of merchandise. The only thing missing is the great service you get at the real Value Drugs. Talk about riding on someone's coat tails! I went there for a covid booster at 3:15 because they advertise that they're open from 3-6 pm for walk-in vaccinations. The gate was down but there was an employee who appeared and told me in her most nonchalant way that of course I couldn't get the vaccine because the pharmacist was on his break - no "I'm sorry", no mention of when he might be back, nothing. Luckily, I had a bad feeling about this place from the beginning (the knockoff name didn't help) and I made a backup appointment with another pharmacy which I recommend that everyone do because they don't honor their own policies and they don't care how much they inconvenience their customers.

I want to thank Value Plus Pharmacy for going above and beyond the call of duty. All that they do for customers is done in a friendly and knowledgeable manner. I can attest to their efficacy and excellent service based on continuous personal experience.

The best pharmacy around. The pharmacist is very knowledgeable and will do whatever he needs to make sure you have all your meds. I am referring my entire family over to him.

Pharmacies are pharmacies I guess. This one is kind of special because I get all my mother's prescriptions here for her. I grew up in the area and I don't mind coming here. The store itself is pretty big and has a large selection of items to purchase, along with getting prescription drugs. The staff is warm and it is family owned and it has that touch of authenticity. You can play Lotto here and get some candy as well, along with gift cards and some house goods. For many reasons, it's one stop shopping. It's located in a great spot right off Tuckahoe road in Yonkers New York. It has been here from ever and it's on the corner of the shopping mall. Parking is easy.

Okay, I now have to update: only 3 stars as of today 5/7/19. My insurance changed and no one thought that the member number might have changed. Days back and forth and no prescriptions. Called and left a message this morning asking whether or not they had the right member number. Did not get back to me. So glad it wasn't my blood pressure medication I needed. Not the same service I used to get.

Yelp has this as "Value Drugs", though the signage in the front has it as "Value Plus" - who's wrong? Who knows. I remember the Value Drugs chain and even worked for them briefly many, many years ago - but this place has no resemblance to them and I heard the chain was done, but who knows. Inside there is that old school pharmacy feel, with tall shelving, selection, and basic feel. The aisles are a little too thin, but still maneuverable. You surely won't feel as if you're in a CVS, Walgreens, or a Rite Aid - not that that's a bad thing either. Those chains put the mom & pop locations largely out of business, so to be inside one that at least feels like one is a good thing. I've been in here once or twice before, but I don't remember any specific changes if there was any. The staff I encountered were.......ok. They did their jobs, but there was nothing special about them either. Pricing is about the norm. There is a lot of merchandise inside, so you just have to look and something may catch your eye past the basic selections of what you'd find in an average pharmacy. This place shares the same land with several other businesses, including a diner and Staples. The parking is ample enough, but during a busy time it could be a potential annoyance. Unless I was real local or a customer for years, I wouldn't go out of my way to come here really. But any chance to give a local business some business over the larger chains isn't a bad thing either. So perhaps I'll return if in the area.
