I am always pleased with the staff here Toni, Alex and Dr. Mangatt and Dr. Freilich are very helpful, and informative with all my glasses- contact needs. The Dr. reminded my daughter about to much screen time and how it can effect her vision as well.

Wanted to share my experience, came in and was immediately assisted by Alex at the front desk who helped walk me through all of the options I have with my insurance coverage. I came in to have my eyes checked and a contact lens fitting, met with Doctor Andrew Freilich who was absolutely awesome! The doc walked me through the different lens options and recommended a comfortable pair that would work for me. He was kind and patient and welcoming to any questions I had. When completed, I went back to Alex who gave me my prescription and helped go through how much everything would be, completely breaking down all the pricing. As my set of contacts is also getting a rebate he informed me that he'll help me with that portion, in store, as soon as I get my lenses in. I had nothing but a positive experience and am glad I made an appointment here.Oh and before I left, doc let me know to give him a call if I had any further questions or concerns!

Worst experience once again. Service is a joke. Do not plan on your appointment to start when scheduled then will skip over you to service a client who showed up after you . Will never return !!

My son was fitted with glasses that were too small. 4 days after picking the glasses up, store manager confirmed they were too small & didn’t have the same style of glasses in a larger size. When I asked for a credit, the glasses were confiscated by the salesperson & I was given a store credit. I’ve been waiting over a month for upper management to call & rectified this situation. This store is awful - I paid for glasses I do not own & no replacement pair was given.UPDATE - I called the Owner. She stated there was a miss communication & would speak with her staff. Then told me that she would only offer me store credit - a lot of good that does since I will never shop at any Sterling Optical again. No money, no glasses . . . worst business ever!

I was sold a pair of glasses that were too small for my son. I returned 2 days later and a salesperson said glasses were too small. I returned 4 days later, store manager confirmed glasses were too small. She gave me 2 choices - replace the too small glasses with glasses that my son did not like (did not have similarly styled glasses in a larger size) or keep the too small glasses. I called less than a week later store manager did not return my call. Went back to the store & a salesperson confiscated the glasses. I was not given a refund or replacement glasses. 45 days later, I contact store owner. She tells me there was a communication problem and she will only give a store credit. I will never purchase anything from this store again - they refuse to issue a refund for merchandise they took back. I paid for glasses that were too small that I no longer own - this business is the worst.

Great service today with the team at sterling optical! Dr. Andy is always friendly and kind. Alex helped me pick out my glasses and he was honest and helpful!!

Freilich is unprofessional & he didn't listen to what I told him my opthalmologist said. Had to go back several times to fix my glasses. Finally gave up & went elsewhere. If you are a senior do not go here. My Eye Dr. company gave me a comprehensive eye exam checking eye pressure, back of eye,etc. & gave me correct glasses. This guy gives you a rushed vision exam only. The staff here are very nice. It's the eye Dr. that needs to go. I just realized the owner is related to the eye Dr. no wonder he gets away with his lousy service and goofy unprofessionalism.

Going through these reviews. I am not seeing what some are saying when I went there. The employees were very nice to me and in my opinion they did have a good selection to choose from. I choose a really nice pair of Tiffany glasses! The optometrist was very nice! Easy to talk to calm and did my exam in the most professional manner possible in my opinion. The girl who took my info and processed my order was down to earth and friendly and made the experience nice as well. For the people who complained about them not answering the phone... well I didn't have that problem either. Also people should remember how short staffed EVERYWHERE is and maybe one person isn't able to get to the phone when there is 10 people in the store at once. I think that people should realize situations with short staffing and try to be calm. In my opinion this was worth going there!

I disagree I was in your store in the Jefferson Valley Mall in Yorktown. And if it was newly renovated it wasn't noticeable. All I said was that you held my prescription hostage and wouldn't release it when I called for it from another Sterling Optical. And I did wait and hour to be seen, why bother to take appointments. And your inventory on display WAS limited. And you offered me a ridiculous discount to come back to your store. So I was definitely there! I repeat TERRIBLE overall!

Wish I read the reviews before coming here. I came in looking for glasses + contacts knowing my insurance would cover one of the two and I'd pay for the other one out of pocket. Full disclosure, my exam was in the later part of the afternoon, so I knew it was getting close to closing time. My exam felt rushed and I walked out with slightly blurry contacts. I felt rushed to pick a frame. I decided to do the glasses through the insurance but was told I should get all these add ons, not being told the price of these add ons. All together with contacts, contact "fitting fee" ($75), and the glasses with the add ons, it came out to $499. I was stunned but again I felt rushed as at this point it was a couple minutes until close. While they verbalized how much each thing cost, the receipt did not itemize the charges. I later received an itemized receipt upon request. The next day I decided I did not feel comfortable buying the glasses as my contacts were still slightly blurry and I didn't want my glasses to be the same way. I called and was told that the manager would call me when she came in the following day. She didn't, so I called her. I was told the glasses had been ordered so they couldn't be cancelled and I would need to come back in to be re examined for contacts and there I could discuss in person my options. Of course the manager was not in and I was told she would call back when she got it. She did not so when I called I was told that they do not do refunds and I could have store credit. I was disappointed with this as I am going to be moving out of the area and would not be able to use this much credit in that time. Later I was told that the insurance had already authorized the glasses so they could not cover the contacts. So I essentially lost my glasses/contacts benefit for this year. This part isn't Sterlings fault but that just really stinks I won't be getting contacts or glasses under my insurance. I understand stores have policies but a no refund policy when I was not satisfied with my experience worsens the customer experience for an already frustrating situation. So basically, I'm out a couple hundred dollars and a good chunk of my time. Very frustrated and dissatisfied. I only don't give 1 star because the eye doctor was knowledgeable and friendly. The manager also tried her best and I understand she's working in the confines of store policies but again no refunds at all just stinks. I'd recommend you go elsewhere.

We were loyal customers for years and purchased glasses and contacts from them for our whole family. Asked to buy two pairs of contacts to tide my daughter over until her appointment next month and they refused. I get that you need an eye exam annually but we were just asking for a couple of pairs till our appointment. Really disappointed.

Helpful, conscientious, friendly, and reasonably priced. It's worth the travel from Mount Kisco. Frames were strong and attractive. Good selection.

My new insurance provides me one free pair of glasses per year, and for whatever reason recommended using Sterling Optical. Not questioning it, I went there having never even been in a Sterling Optical (let alone the Jefferson Valley Mall in probably 7+ years). I knew I was going to have a problem as my exam was the MOST HURRIED, FAST and quick paced check-up I've ever had since wearing glasses and having been examined by probably a half-dozen Optometrists over the years. "2 or 3?" "1 or 2?" Wait... I never focused on the first one! "3 or 4?" Hey man, WAIT, I'm still 2 slides back! So as I unfortunately suspected, the prescription was 'off' as the proper time wasn't taken during my initial visit. When I went back to return them, my Sales Associate was more than friendly and apologetic although the doctor was a bit abrupt and could probably be considered rude. Like I said, if you're not going to take the time to do it RIGHT the first time, expect to do it TWICE. If there were another doctor working at this location, I would have asked to come back and be re-examined by them. Unfortunately this little transaction was 3 trips to that lousy mall! And my free glasses were HARDLY free when all was said and done--which may or may not be the fault of this franchise, but my prescription isn't quite right either. Fingers crossed my eyes adjust!

I am very happy with my new glasses. I found the Doc to be gracious, personable, and professional. I am sorry I cant remember her name..The rest of the staff was friendly,informative and patient.Of course, the most important thing is that I can actually see clearly and I can tell that the prescription is perfect.Thank you all.

I don’t normally leave reviews, but I saw so many bad ones for this store on the staff and I had to! From the second I literally entered the doorway I was greeted .. and it was packed.. from there, friendliness and helpful associates. Great selection too!
