I specifically asked for a reliable vehicle, the saleswoman from gander sold me something that was very high maintenance, and few times a month i would have to bring the car in to get fixed. After about 5 months of having the vehicle and going through a lot of trouble, they could not figure out the one issue, i had to get rid of the vehicle and i am glad i did. Never returning back, because all they care about is money. They will not fix the issue until the warranty is up so they can charge you. The worst place to buy cars.

Extremely unprofessional service offered to a senior and Canadian Veteran, who went here for services after purchasing 2 vehicles from here. The employees and owner should be ashamed of how they treat their customers.

Have been going to this dealer for 6.5 years, my truck has never been worked on by another garage in Newfoundland. I recently went in for a driveline service ($460 + tax) and I had noticed a broken manifold stud on the driver side causing an exhaust tick so I asked for a quote to fix. They charged me $70 plus tax (half hour labour) to tell me the same thing I told them and then print me off a quote. I should add on my previous visit last fall I mentioned the tick (it was much quieter then, just started) and they advised it was something broken in my aftermarket muffler, no manifold leak as I had suggested. Had to look myself to find the issue when I paid for a vehicle health check. 70 bucks to pop the hood? Ridiculous.

Have GMC Sierra. Having brake issues stemming from a brake booster recall. Called GMC Canada perfect customer service. Confirmed the recall issue. Made appointment with Hickman's for issue. Went for scheduled appointment time slot. Advised would be contacted when complete not a long job. After walking to mall(shuttle was offered?) I made my way back after 2 hours. I seen my truck drive out of the shop thinking they were doing a test drive......An hour later(now 3 hours total) I decide to inquire on the status of my truck only to notice it the parking lot . I asked my service advisor why I wasn't called about my truck being complete. He looked at the computer and said it's still being serviced. I said well my truck is out there. The advisor left for 5 min came back said your truck needs a new brake booster but doesn't come possibly til Monday, today is Friday and we don't have loaners available for this repair code.. And the mechanic advises not to drive the vehicle for safety concerns. And my extended warranty does not cover a rental. I live over 100kms away so walking was out of the question and a cab ride to costly at Christmas. I had to sign a waiver to drive my vehicle off of the lot the same condition I drove onto the lot, never getting an explanation to why I was not contacted without my own investigation. The mechanic assumed I guess no one would ever ask???? The service Advisor was so eager to get to lunch he started slamming his pizza down. Only saying when you figure out what your doing, to let him know. You get 1 star review as this was totally unacceptable and I would say I am not the only one that has dealt with a service issue because all around the dealership are notices stating to treat the Hickman employees like they are not adults by talking nicely to them but they can treat us the customers like someone that has no value of time. Now I wait to get a call to get my truck fixed. Let's see what happens! Will follow up with a better review hopefully.

I had an emergency with my GMC Terrain, lost all antifreeze, and not living in Gander, I needed to know why and have it repaired! It was Nov 16, very close to closing time and the Service Advisor, HALEY WARREN, made it possible to have it checked and repaired! By doing so, I avoided having to pay a $155.00 cab to home!Hayley, you could have turned me away but you didn’t! We just bought a new truck from Hickman Motors Gander I think we were treated very fairly the salesman that we dealt with got us the best deal that he could, he presented the new vehicle to us and explained all the features and because there is so much to take in he told us if there was something that we didn't understand we could call or drop by and he would help us figure it out. I would recommend Hickman Motors to anyone looking for a vehicle.

We bought a 2015 Chevy Silverado with 38 thousand kms on it at the end of December 2020, motor was running rough asked about it and was told that it’s normal because it was a basic truck and it doesn’t have a lot of sencers, now with only 50 thousand kms on it the motor is gone, push rods is bent, camshaft is damaged , can’t get the gaskets or enough push rods to fix it… nothing but a lemon…… we always had a Chevy / GMC but never again…..
