“A must visit for sailors. I am told that the present value of the collection is around $2 mil. I don't care about the value but the detailed models, created mostly by a single individual is astounding. There is no entrance fee but donations are recommended as this is a truly wonderful thing to support. Staff are highly knowledgable, and if one has interest, there is a backroom where other models are being restored, along with some other interesting items such as the "snow taxi" sled that looks like a day couch. Some of the staff are history buffs and can talk with you about WWI and WWII and we ended up there talking for about 2 hours! There is also some lovely artwork, looks like acrylics, on one of the walls. If you have an interest, this is a facinating place.”
