My special order fisherman knit cardigan arrived today. I would describe it as a utilitarian artistic masterpiece. Made of 100% wool it will be warm and oh so wearable. Beautifully hand knit. My deceased mother, a fantastic knitter, would rate this level of stitchery A+. The price for Nonia's sweaters is amazingly reasonable. Anyone doing hand work knows the hours that go into such a piece. The manager at Nonia was lovely when I dealt with her on-line and over the phone. Thanks Katie for facilitating this purchase! I will wear it with pride.

Excellent products and customer service. Stopped in during my first trip to NL from Toronto and picked up some trigger mitts knitted by women in outport communities in the province. First, the mitts are awesome. Second, I somehow ended up in Toronto with one of the pairs as the wrong type of mitts. I was disappointed as I had picked up two pairs: one for myself and one for my partner (one of which ended up being gloves). A wonderful employee named Cathy helped me to fix the mistake and exchange them (I paid for shipping of course). Excellent customer service.

Such an amazing little store. Everything is hand knit by women all across the province. Will be 100 years old in 2020! Truly a great place to go for a hand knit garment. They have sweaters for everyone from babies to adults, and they can have one f their sweaters made in your size and colour preference.

Historic shop that feels timeless. Good value for hand crafted products, and good cause. Children's knitwear selection is terrific--bright and cheerful (hint: adults like colour too!)

Fabulous source of the winter's most wonderful sweaters. Am still wearing the first one I bought in 1976. One of a kind with a wide turtle neck collar. Can't recall if was Nonia store, but it was hand made in the out ports.Bought 6 more (special order of size and colours) outdoor wonders for the whole family to ski in in 1987. They are all still in fabulous shape and active use. Fortunately the kids were already their current adult sizes then.Bought another in 2002 - a different colour for variety - and it also is as good as new.Walking, shopping, skiing, making snow angels, chopping woodthese are amazingly durable and still great looking.Unbelievably No evidence of wear. Even the treasure from 1976 which is a snugger fit.Bravo to this fabulous source of truely MADE IN CANADA products. We now feel even patriotic because not only are they the hardiest clothes in our wardrobes but they stand for the high standards of proud Newfoundland knitters.
