About The Lantern
The Lantern is an event space in the heart of St. John's, located just behind the Basilica. It offers a range of facilities that can accommodate a variety of programs and events. Six spaces are available for rent, from the smallest meeting room (320 sq ft) to the Conference Centre (4,130 sq ft). Revenues from room rentals cover operational costs and subsidize peer support and community groups that cannot pay. Regular users say the space is always clean, ready to go, and without a hitch. The staff are great people to work with, and the atmosphere feels well cared for and loved. The Lantern hosts weddings, birthdays, showers, retirement parties, weekly events, non‑profit activities, and even a kitchen on site for catering or cooking yourself. A counselling organization, RUAH, also meets here. The space is perfect for any event, with abundant parking and multiple rooms of many different sizes.

I have used this place regularly for a couple of years now always without a hitch, always clean,always ready to go. Great people to work with. If you need to rent a space, I would highly recommend what The Lantern has to offer.

I remember coming here when it was known as The Elementary School… Presentation. I must say it looks well cared for and loved… What a great atmosphere. Feeling nostalgic.

The Lantern is the perfect place for any event. It has multiple rooms of many different sizes with abundant parking. The staff is absolutely the best to work with. Weddings, birthdays, showers, retirement parties, weekly events, non-profit stuff etc. Kitchen on site, cater or cook yourself…
