Towels smelled like old cooking oil. Commode very low to the floor. Showers need grab bars. Entry light out in room. Very good breakfast. Thought the price was a bit high for the area but beds were comfortable and clean.

I've been staying in this hotel for the past 8 or 9 years two or three times a year to visit family in the area. I have noticed the deterioration of this hotel in the past couple of years. This year, I was hesitant to stay here again; however, this hotel is the closest decent hotel to our family. Also, I want to support the community. Tonight will be our last night staying here ever again. The bathroom of the first room was not cleaned: hair from the previous guest was all over the floor and bath wall and ceiling was moldy. We were just going to suck it up and stay through the last day and not say anything about the cleanliness. This morning roaches were crawling on our food and my husband decided to ask for a different room. We switched rooms and it was another disappointment. We got a room that was heavy on air freshener. I had a suspicion that the air freshener was on purpose to mask something else. Well as it turns out it was to mask the smokey smell. Someone had smoked in this room. But, I noticed that a bit too late. It was about 10pm when we got back to the room and I removed the wall air freshener and that's when I noticed the smoke smell. I Should have known better when the room smelled strong with air freshener. I can't sleep from the smell; therefore, writing this review. I feel a little bitter that we might have been given this smelly room because we complained about the first one. I am more angry at myself for not trusting my instinct. I am glad tonight is the last night here; i can catch up on my sleep when i get home. Good luck to those who decides to stay here.

I guess all a 1 star needs in order to be called a 3 star is a fresh coat of paint and some walmart furniture.Everything about this hotel looks, feels, and smells like a dive (new paint and flooring aside.) The hallways have the unmistakable aroma of decades of smoke and must that have been painted and carpeted over.Rooms feel like a cold basement. Low ceilings, poor lighting, hard fake wood floors. The main surfaces of things are new and clean, but you can see the oldness, dirtiness, and damage in all the corners, edges, seams, and nooks & crannies of the room. There is a large gap underneath all the doors (pictured.) You can literally roll a large marble under the door between rooms. Meaning you hear every word of every conversation your neighbor has. You hear every time they blow their nose or take a leak. You hear everything. Hope your neighbor's alarm isn't set earlier than yours. Because it'll be your alarm too.Gap under the main door too. So expect to hear footsteps of every person that walks by and absolutely every time somebody in your hallway opens or closes a door. The continental breakfast is pitiful. Cold fake egg patties. Pastries out of a box. Gas station apples. Worst coffee I've had.Tossed my plate in the trash and went to McDee's. It's garbage too, but at least it's palatable garbage.I can roll with cheap hotels. But don't tell me this is a 3 star. And sure as heck don't charge me for one.

Rooms were clean and nice. Bed slept great. There were just a few little things that kind of made me rate it 3 stars, and not 4. The overhead light didn't work going into room, the toilet was very low, the chairs in the breakfast area were very low, to the point that an elderly person might have had trouble getting up.

The service at front desk was friendly tho that was a plus. But Air conditioning was broke in 3 different rooms they put me in . Landlines phone in room didn't work. Breakfast biscuits were cold at 6am when Breakfast was served. Bad overall experience. Try the holiday Inn instead.

Quiet, comfortable, and cozy hotel that was perfectly situated in Albemarle, NC. We were there for a funeral and were able to easily and quickly make our way to the location.Nearby activities: We explored Mount Morrow before we left and had a lovely time walking and enjoying the scenic overlook.

The young lady working the front desk was extremely pleasant and hard working. Very impressed with the cleanliness of the rooms. My family enjoyed their stay here. Would not hesitate to return here in the future.

I have to be honest I was a little nervous going to a Best Western, but the reviews seem positive so I gave it a go and I am very very pleased that I did. The employees including home services, we're super super friendly very welcoming. The room was really up to date and very nice. I haul horses so I'm always looking for hotels to repeat while on the road and I definitely added this one to my list!Rooms: Super clean and updatedSafety: Cute small town vibe. Did not get the "keep an eye open" feelingNoteworthy details: STAFF IS SO FRIENDLY!!!

Don't do it. If you can afford to stay elsewhere please do. Not to be mean but just being honest In case you like me need to evaluate your options and have limited funds. (The sleep inn in Albemarle is apparently not much better according to coworkers). Breakfast was the worst hotel food I've ever had. It was the same everyday: cold sausage and eggs. They ran out of gravy for the biscuits which were hard. And they ran out of yogurt..So waffles were my go to. Saw a gentleman put his whole hand in to get food instead of using the tongs provided which made me just want to avoid the whole free breakfast situation lol. Rooms were not that bad though. The lady there upon arrival was very accommodating when I asked to be moved from my first room due to some left behind personal items I noticed under the bed. I looked for bed bugs and did not see any or get bit. I mention bc of other reviews that mention them and I was in two different rooms but didn't notice anything and I was actively looking... My room phone would not dial the front desk. Getting a signal was hard but using their wifi helped.. Bed was comfy and shower was hot . overall I think they just need to reinvent breakfast and maybe redo the phones. Albemarle seems to be hard to find decent lodging at this price point. Maybe try Concord if you can afford the extra mileage.Rooms: Comfy room, had trouble figuring the TV out but everything was clean

Meh, dead june bugs on room floor, clean beds, average restroom, good water pressure, clean towels, understaffed, weak breakfast.Edit: I made a return visit the following week and the room was much better. The staff was very nice.
