I had a lunch meeting with some friends and I have always frequented the original location on the river. I was very pleasantly surprised at how much easier the flow is at this location. Honestly, it is way better than the location the is in the River Arts District. They certainly get the food out much faster and the quality seems to be a bit higher. To be perfectly honest and fair, I have to say that I have been eating at 12 Bones since it was under original ownership and with all the original recipes, so I’m a bit critical of the Asheville location. This one feels much more in line with the service of the original. All of the barbecue and the sauces are the same as the original, it is the sides that have varied from the original recipes.

Forgot how much I really liked this place. My current eating lifestyle doesn't afford me eating to much BBQ. But the dry brown sugar ribs still slap!! Also the corn pudding and cornbread still as delicious. Still love this place!

Great music by Asheville Junction. Hope to hear them again. The pulled pork and the potato salad were delicious and satisfying.....until the middle of the night when some of the worst after meal GI symptoms in my life hit me and persisted until 4:00 the following morning. I may return for the music and a glass of water, but not the food. Thankfully NC is full of better BBQ options.

I think it’s a crime to sell bbq in NC and not serve iced tea. Ribs were legit. Trivia nite vibe = Asheville trying to be Portland so hard. Friendly

Nice atmosphere, pricey for what we got. Everyone picked over their pulled pork. No kids menu.

Outstanding BBQ and brews! The portions are definitely filling and more than I expected. The pulled pork was excellent, not fatty and not dry. The collard greens and green beans were delicious and the blueberry chipotle ribs were an amazing combo of sweet heat.I went in the back and sat at the brewery and had good conversation with the fellow working the bar there. I had narrowed down my drink choices to two and asked his opinion, and he let me sample both. The Punks & Poets stout was a definite good choice.I'll definitely be back here again!

It closes so early..must not need the money..Great location super awesome staff higher prices but worth every penny for the best brisket and water melting soft ribs. 12 bones are enough for 2 people. Great sides. Best green beans what is it they put in them? Probably pork or bacon..yumm!Kid-friendliness: Family fun.. and there is an awesome bar in the back

Got the pineapple habanero ribs and they lived up to the hype. Sides were alright, but I think I ordered the wrong ones. The corn pudding looked like the move.

Everything is good. The only thing is that you have to pay food and service prior to have it served. So, you pay tip for a future service.

This was not just a great place to have a beer and hang out, but the ribs were absolutely amazing. Highly recommended to stop by. It has a down-home feel, and the staff is always running around delivering food and checking to ensure everything is okay.
