Venerable Asheville Dive Bar, and no- they don't serve burgers of any kind. Not a restaurant, just a bar named for Burger Beer out of Ohio. Pretty chill crowd, and the best Saturday Nite Karaoke in town, but be warned that you'll be competing with Asheville's Theatre Kids.

Rad dive bar! As a guy that owns a burger restaurant, as soon as I saw it, I knew we had to stop. No burgers, but real cool decor. Wish we had stopped a bit later when more people were around, I'm sure it gets lively in here!

Really excited to visit here, great decor and atmosphere - at least at the start. We arrived at about 11.15pm and immediately signed up for karaoke. There were 6-7 people on the list in front of me - about a 40min wait - no problem, I thought. There were two large groups at the bar, all friendly. We cheered them as they took turns to sing. After about an hour, I began to wonder why I hadn’t been called. I waited and waited while every member of both groups got up to sing, many of whom I had seen put their names down after me. After they had all sung, at nearly 1am, I was finally called to sing to an empty bar. I felt horrible. I don’t know if it was because they were all the MC’s friends, or all regulars, or all white (which they were and I am not) but it was a horrible experience.

This place is a trip. Was packed when we visited, with karaoke inside. Prices were fine, lots of hipsters.

Please note, despite the name, they don't serve burgers or any restaurant food. They only have snacks. That aside, this is my favorite "dive bar". I'm an old punk rocker from the 80s and I've found a place I feel at home when I visit Asheville. The staff slings great drinks, but won't suffer fools kindly which has fostered a sold flow of regulars. So if you're a looky-loo who plans to start sh!t, move along my friend. If y'all visit in the afternoon and you're blessed to have Jax behind the bar, tip her well, bask in her warm smile and tell her Mindy sent ya.

LOVE THIS SPOT. Rumor has it its the oldest bar in Asheville and we are here for it! Left a signed dolla bill as a momento like many of those before us! Drinks are solid and the stories told by those at the bar could be a book on its own. Check it out!

I am in absolute shock that I have not reviewed this place yet. Years ago, the first time I lived in Asheville, I found this place thanks to a friend, and it became a staple. Upon returning to Asheville two years ago, I was beyond thrilled to find it to be the same comforting dive bar I remembered from before. Located literally on the side of the highway, across from new Belgium, this inconspicuous little spot is a favorite. Is it grungy? Yes. Does it serve burgers? Absolutely not. Bring your leather, and an open mind and heart, and you will find true happiness here. It's a true community spot with a ton of events, such as karaoke, film, screenings, and even a sewing class I heard. The bartenders are incredibly welcoming. The place itself is very inclusive and it's drink options, environment, people, and energy.

My friend from out of town wanted Karoke and this place was the best. Super dive bar. Awesome decor. Loved the people watching and the bartender was awesome. We put our name in to sing and we only had to wait about 20 minutes.
