Visited the gallery recently, Daniel was not there. The individual there was friendly and informative! The art work is unique and the studio space was excellent and cool to experience. Definitely a location to visit if you are in the area!

I was in the area browsing the spaces when his work caught my eye. The display from the window drew me in and I wanted to view more of this work and meet the artist. I had the pleasure of meeting Daniel and he was both welcoming and excited to share the processes and passion of how he approaches his work. He spoke candidly about his work, which was nice to experience. I enjoyed chatting with him and even noted the playfulness of some pieces. The studio layout is beautiful! I hope to return to the area soon!

The artist renovated this space that should be in architectural digest. Interesting levels, finishes and skylights add to his unusual colorful art. Don't miss it.

Daniel’s art is phenomenal, truly the best studio we’ve found in a city known for great offerings. I can get lost in a painting and notice different elements each time I pass by. We love the art so much that we plan on getting more - but the pieces often move quickly so you have to be on top of it! Even better may be the artist himself, who is genuine, personable, knowledgeable, and an all around pleasure to be around.

Daniel is so personable, and Very Gifted. His art is truly 'one of a kind.' If you love art, you'll love his abstract & unique art.***(Fun tip: try to find his abstract-camel piece:^)The down stairs portion of the gallery, with it's fantastic lighting is what makes his pieces come to life. It's artists like Daniel that pursues his dream using his talent, rather than taking a 9-5 job that gives me hope.

We were recently given the opportunity to create a 3 video series for Daniel. We were already fans of his bold and honest art, but working with him made us fans for life. He doesn’t paint for an audience, he paints for himself. There’s something very admirable about that. After capturing extensive interviews with him, and spending time with him and his family, we got to know him very well. If his work wasn't already impressive, his personality and life views make his work shine even brighter.Daniel is a down to earth, incredibly kind person, and a phenomenal artist. If you visit Asheville, make sure you drop in his studio and chat with him while exploring his incredible art. It will be worth your time.

Daniel's creatively unique work is truly the gem of the River Arts District, and his spacious studio (once a Nabisco distribution warehouse in 1907) complements the beauty of his work in a warm, inviting way. The work nods to an abstract expressionist approach, but also resembles a vibrant form of primitive art. Daniel is in his studio often, and is always willing to answer questions about his work or hold a friendly conversation. It has been interesting watching his work slowly evolve within his own distinguished style, while his modesty remains consistent. I highly recommend paying his studio a visit, which is now open 7 days a week, if not to simply view and experience his work in person! You won't regret it!

I just completed a month long road trip that included visting art galleries in Asheville, Charleston, Savannah and Atlanta. The artist who most impressed me was Daniel McLendon of Lift Studios in Asheville. Walking into his 5000 sq ft space is exhilerating and the art is so distinctive, done is a style uniquely his own. I was not surprised to see many magazines on display with rave reviews of his work. I'm keeping a close eye on this rising star in the art world!

Daniel's art is a wonderful work of masterpieces driven by instinct and causes the viewer to participate in it. The more you embrace the work, the livelier it becomes!
