For the cost of these rooms, we really expected a much more comfortable and luxurious stay. What a disappointment. I want to preface by saying that the gentleman who checked us in and especially the one young man operating the valet were phenomenal. That's about where the praise ends.To kick things off, we were not alerted prior to booking, or even during the booking process, that valet parking was mandatory and would cost us an additional $25 per night. We didn't find out about this charge until we had already booked our stay and frankly, I found this pretty shady. The beds and linens were terrible. Lumpiest pillows I've had in a hotel in a LONG time, and the blankets were thin, scratchy and a terrible quality. Nothing that I would expect from a hotel that costs upwards of $200/night. I've literally stayed at Quality Inns (recently!) with much nicer linens. The hotel was under construction. It didn't impact our stay much (except one of the elevators was a bit wonky and struggled to close its door) but again, this is information that should have been made clear to guests PRIOR to arrival. The communication was non-existent.The coffee in the rooms was undrinkable, which I imagine is by design because there is a cafe in the lobby with paid drinks. Those drinks were far better, but unfortunately the cafe was only ever staffed by ONE overworked barista/bartender and so the service was unbearably slow. Again, I expect more from a hotel of this (supposed) caliber. A mint. A chocolate. Decent coffee. More than one staff at the cafe on a Saturday. We aren't asking for the moon here. The cherry on top was the shower head falling apart and flying off the wall mid-shower on our first morning. We were in a rush to make an appointment and so we asked the front desk if we could be moved to another room so our party of 3 could finish showering and get ready to go. We were told they only had one other room available, and it was more expensive than the one we had booked, and we'd have to pay the difference. Because OUR room was literally falling apart. Instead we had to wait for maintenance to come up and replace the broken shower head (which was a cheap plastic thing clearly not built to last). We hopped online and looked at the availability, and were able to book a CHEAPER room then and there ourselves (which we regrettably did, because the beds were too small and we needed some extra space anyway). I asked the front desk to have a manager contact me regarding these issues. No one ever reached out.Why we were lied to at the front desk remains a mystery. Why we were offered NO form of compensation for the hassle of having our plans derailed because of a faulty room is also a mystery. Why my request for a callback from management was ignored, another mystery. I'm sure that management will attempt to explain it away somehow, but I'll cap this review off with the fact that my family has owned and operated our OWN hotel for over 30 years and I was once the GM of a casino hotel myself. There is no excuse for this level of service. Not at any price but certainly not at these prices. We won't be giving our business to any IHG properties in the future if we can help it.

I think we stayed in the room with the very best view! This is a great location for all downtown activities.

We booked our hotel room through IHG as we have recently had issues through other websites and our hotel bookings. We upgraded our room so we could have a Mountain View, we also wanted the free breakfast that would come with it. When I went to claim it we were told “because you used a AAA discount you no longer get free breakfast”. We were told on the phone that this room would come with a free breakfast and now we have to go chasing this down, even though this wasn’t mentioned when we asked if there was a AAA discount. The front desk man couldn’t be bothered, was rude and just stared at me.

For the first time in my life my husband and I took a long weekend trip for my birthday the first weekend in January. I booked the 1 bedroom, on the penthouse level. First impressions of the lobby were great, and location was perfect, that’s about where the good ends. Upon entering the room the first thing I noticed was the amazing floor to ceiling windows, the second thing I noticed was the horribly dirty furniture, the rug with large stains, the furniture that is in horrible condition, the dining table was wobbly, and lastly there were stains on bed, and carpet next to the bed. The floor was also not completely cleaned. I was so disappointed to say the least, this was my special weekend and felt that I was not comfortable to stay there. Front desk was amazing, very accommodating and patiently went through our options. We opted to not stay, which was heartbreaking because this was the room I wanted for my trip. We were told my customer service that the property is about to undergo renovations and it needs it horribly. I do not believe I will stay at another IHG property.

Great hotel right in downtown Ashville, walking distance to all the shops, breweries and restaurants. Spend the extra few dollars to have breakfast included it's well worth it and won't find a better deal. Our waitress was awesome every day of our stay and had a great start to the day . Front desk staff and valet were fast ,efficient and accommodating. When we go back to Ashville we will stay here again.Rooms: We had the penthouse floor with our own fireplace and wrap around balcony with views of the mountains and downtown Ashville. If you stay here get one of the suites with a mountain view you won't regret booking one of these rooms.Noteworthy details: Close to everything in downtown Ashville great shopping and location to everything

Really nice three night stay. King sized bedroom on side away from I-240. Comfortable, clean, quiet, good Wi-Fi, efficient daily housekeeping, and good (not complimentary) breakfast. Really convenient location for walking to lots of places; important as parking in Asheville is no fun. Valet parking (required) was a bit discombobulated but generally efficient as the guys worked hard and managed the small circular area. Staff are friendly and helpful. Not the cheapest option for sure but we really enjoyed the stay.

Nice hotel in walking distance to all the restaurants and attractions of Downtown Asheville. Friendly staff and nice comfortable rooms. I think they could do a better job cleaning the bathrooms and provide better coffee for the room but overall we enjoyed our stay!

My family and I have been staying here about once a year for the last decade. Hotel Indigo, like many boutique hotels, has lost its initial luster and has begun to not only look dated but is now showing its age. If that were the only issue I’d have no further complaints but one thing I won’t mince words about is cleanliness. The floor in our room looked as if the staff have only been half-heartedly cleaning the easily accessible areas for years. Under the desk, dresser, and corner chair there was a build up of dust, hair, and pieces of a broken wine glass. The bathroom shower needed a deep cleaning and the exhaust air grille in the ceiling was caked with built-up dust and hair. Everywhere you look there are signs of deferred maintenance….damaged woodwork, dings in the wall, etc. On the plus side, the staff were pleasant and helpful and the proximity to Asheville’s downtown is convenient.

Very nice hotel, comfy bed, great location and very friendly staffs. We spend a night passing thru town. If we ever come to Asheville for visit definitely will come here again. They only have valet parking. $25 overnight and $15 per day for parking that is no street parking in this area. Do I have a lobby restaurant with a small bar.Rooms: Very spacious room and bathroom

Great pet friendly stay! The view was great from an end of hallway room, walking distance to many restaurants and breweries that we enjoy visiting when we are in town. If you have a dog you’ll need to walk up the street a bit for them to use the bathroom is grassy area. Breakfast in the lobby was delicious especially the yogurt parfait! We will stay here again.

Extremely disappoint... we book the penthouse room on thanksgiving weekend.. we have been coming there for years twice a year to be exactly to visited our daughter.. Our first night we realize that he was no soap in the shower dispenser. And no tissue in the room so i call the front desk he was about 9:30 in evening. i was told that if I want this two missing items i would have to go downstairs myself, we just travel 6 hours and exhausted and I was already undress and in the shower. i didn’t think that was handle properly... also the next day we left our room to do some errands on our return all the missing items where replace but the room was done half way floor was full of crumbs from the breakfast that we have in the room .. Front desk staff are not pleasant and arrogant except for the young lady. We are not locking for a refund but the management obviously need to be where of this situation. We love this place sad to see it going down…

While the staff did a great job of hosting, they could not overcome some important issues. The room was standard Indigo, very neat, minimalist, while still giving you a little more. The shower was unfortunately still uncleaned from the previous guests, as revealed by the long dark hair clump left on the shower wall.Floor molding in the middle of the room was separated from the wall.Breakfast, while "included" with my stay was only just par. The options were few and the food was forgetful. The waitress was very cheery and efficient! An overall challenge for this stay was the presence of drug addicts around and on hotel property. I saw zero police present in the city during my visit as well. The downtown area and into the suburbs was also riddled with addicts and the environment that goes with those addictions. This gave the impression of a very unsafe environment. If the local policies are to enable this lifestyle, I find that to be dangerous, ignorant, and inhumane. Ashville was and could be so much better for everyone.I gave 3 stars knowing Indigo cannot control everything.
