I left my lawn mower for repair nearly a month ago and nothing but crickets from the section doing the repair. I had to call several times to ask about any progress. They said that they'd pass my concern to the person doing the repair. I finally decided to collect the mower. No work had been done and there was also no proof that a diagnostic had even taken place. I lost $30 which is what you need to leave when dropping off an item to be repaired. What a rip-off. The store manager offered apologies but certainly didn't offer to refund the $30. I'll go somewhere else. Totally unprofessional!!

I am always blown away by the wonderful customer service at this store. I needed a socket so I could attempt a first time lamp repair, and I was greeted at the door with a request for help.By leading me straight to the aisle needed, and matching a replacement socket, I was out in 10 minutes and my dog enjoyed a treat from the cashier. Lamp repair was successful!

Overpriced and mismanaged. IMO There is a solid 85% chance that item will be a higher price at the register than the posted label, random parts will be mixed in with other items, or the employee trying to help you just slows you down guessing where something might be. I only go here to save the extra time to go to lowes, but its not really worth it most of the time.

This place is not very good. The employees ask you if they can help you in the most aggressive manner they jump up in your face. Doesn't matter. They have no special awareness and zero customer service skills. They should have some prevention and revising of how things work around there. Running up on the people who enter customers and ask if you can help them before they even get the door closed behind them is very rude and should stop immediately and their employees are not very kind and I certainly do not appreciate 98% of the employees customer service. I've been all over the world. I've been in TV and movies. These people have no idea even how to sell a screw correctly

Oh my god, I hated my trip here! First of all, it's super hard to turn into. The light at the corner only lets about 2-3 cars through at a time, so it takes several cycles to make the turn. Then the parking lot is a bit hard to get into as well, and small.But the kicker is that all I needed were washers, but it's apparently on me to make a note of how much they cost. No one at the counter knows. So they just take your word for it, I guess. It's not that they aren't friendly (and the customers are too) but when I needed more parts, I didn't go back.

All the employees here are very helpful, and courteous. They have a decent stock of items, and they play some great music, too!

Everytime I come here to get something for the shop I’m treated like a criminal. Before even being asked what I need help with I am questioned about my backpack and someone stands in front of me and won’t move until I take it off, and after complying with taking it off I am followed around the store. I spend money here often and I will not be coming back. Learn how to treat people better. I’m sick of being treated like a thief when I’ve spent hundred of dollars there this year. Four thumbs down

Did you know Ace reserves the right to cancel any order, even if you paid for it online, if they mistakenly have the wrong price on an item? So I thought the item I bought was one thing, and it turned out to be 2x as expensive and how was I supposed to know they had the wrong item on the price? I wouldn't! Crosscheck everything you can with them, bc they will wind up costing you double if its an online order... and to boot- the money doesn't come back on your card for 7-10 days! So not only do u have to have money for the item you paid for online, you have to pay double when you get there. Do yourself a favor... don't shop at ace hardware on haywood rd Asheville nc

The purpose of my visit was to check prices of Stihl weed eaters. I was greeted with a smile by the floor clerk (whose name I forget to note). He politely asked if I needed any help. To which I replied, " No, not just yet, thank you. I will let you know as I pointed to the rack full of Stihl weed eaters. He smiled and turned to go about other task. It wasn't but a few minutes later, he was back and near by talking about work task with fellow employees. I motioned to him that"I was ready for his help." I needed to see a weed eater that was lock up. But wanted to be able to hold and feel the weight and function of it. He happily helped me. I was impressed with the price and that it was well suited for my use. We talked about the weed eater as also did another customer. The three of us comparing notes, if you will.Once I told the clerk, yes I want to purchase this Stihl. He offered a case of Stihl oil. But I interected with " no thank you I have oil at home". "well the reason I suggest it is this, your warranty will be doubled from 2 years to 4 years.No pressure ...ust a nice offer.I was happy to buy the whole deal. Then he made sure the weed eater had fuel, that it started and that I was statisfied with the purchase. This is good hometown service and is missed in the Big Box stores. I miss the days of having a hardware store on every corner. Maddens harkens back to those days. They have a lot of things the big box stores don't. You can but just one of an item instead of having to buy a whole bag of parts. They offer services like cutting glass and screen. The best part though, is the personal service. Within one minute of entering the store someone always asks if they can help me. They are the epitome of service with a smile. Sometimes, the old ways are the best!

Super friendly and helpful staff. I've always had a good experience with them. The staff go out of their way to find what I'm looking for and look for backstock if it's not on the floor. I get a lot of bags of soil so it's nice to have somebody load it up for me.
