We have had the best experience with MCU! We have started banking with MCU and also just got our mortgage through MCU and we couldn't be more pleased with the customer service. Jim specifically worked his magic in the mortgage department to get us approved for our new home, with a fantastic interest rate and minimal closing costs while providing excellent service throughout the process. Josh was incredibly helpful as well and we are grateful for his diligent communication and getting everything done in a timely manner so that we could close on time. We highly recommend doing business with MCU, and a special shout out to the entire mortgage department for this great experience!

Went in to use the ATM as their sign says co-op shared branch. However, they tried to charge a fee for using my other credit unions card. Which means they are not part of the co-op. Just moved to the area and will clearly not be using them for my new credit union, nor recommend them to anyone.

Awful customer service. After 3 times submitting proof of insurance on an auto loan, they still didn't have my policy on file. This caused them to add a lender placed policy raising my monthly payment by $72. After each time submitting my documentation I was lead to believe everything would be handled internally on their end, it was not. Today I spoke via email with Candler branch manager Amanda Parham. She was unwilling to provide any sort of customer service. She was unwilling to address the failures by MCU staff to process the insurance documents. At that point she became snippy. Even in an email it was obvious. I'm in the process of having Telco refinance this loan. I will never recommend any friends or family use MCU.

Over the past year, this credit union has been a nightmare with which to work. They could not sustain their office in Asheville, which was also in a very bad section of town. So, now you have to drive all the way to Candler to conduct business or even just to make your monthly payments. They are not online and very rarely answer the phone, during business hours.With the exception of just viewing your accounts, none of their services are online. So, imagine doing business back in 1985. They are supposed to be able to offer some management of your accounts via a telephone call, but it is very rare that someone would ever answer the phone here. This has been the case since I opened my accounts with them. For the rare instance they do answer the phone during business hours, the staff is super slow and alarmingly inefficient. I tried calling 3 times throughout the day today before finally giving up and driving to Candler to take care of a monthly payment.Unless you live in Candler, are retired, and are financially desperate; I highly recommend you do your element of financing anywhere else. 4 out of 5 times the staff call me by the wrong name when I come here or call in. It's on their screen, no? From my experience with this credit union, Customer Service is about a 1 out of 10, Efficiency and Competency are each in negative numbers. Go elsewhere.

This branch deserves an absolute zero. They are nothing but unhelpful and confrontational. After multiple unanswered phone calls I’m greeted by Sarah the branch manger, who did not verify me and starts asking personal questions irrelevant to the services I need. No one should ever consider using this credit union.

I have gone into this Branch with a somewhat good attitude, but there is one teller that just shows her personal feelings, towards me. It is somewhat nasty, an she has greeted other customers with proper etiquette.

I have gone into this Branch with a somewhat good attitude, but there is one teller that just shows her personal feelings, towards me. It is somewhat nasty, an she has greeted other customers with proper etiquette.Today I walked in there, deposited some money, an asked for a cashiers check for child support, she neglected to type that in as a reference(when paying child support the reference is important) secondly she made printed copy(without my consent to do so) of the payment, an told me it was for her records, even tho when making the cashiers check, it prints a bank receipt in which they separate before handing the check to you. I strongly feel some type of fraudulent activity on her part was made, and meeting with my lawyer tomorrow to discuss this situation
