Things went pretty well from the first estimation experience through the move honestly. However, the professionals that set up the family bed, did NOT set it up properly. It was not screwed in for support or anything. It literally was just set up but not secured in ANY WAY!!! We went to nice the bed and it collapsed. We were SO thankful that this didn't happen when our parents were sleeping. NOT OK!!!! I have a picture of the boards unattached yesterday if this would help.

We have been relocated 4 times prior to this move. Some good some bad but this move we actually paid for ourselves was the worst move ever. Our move into our first house using family members had less damage and problems. It started with being sold a bunch of lies with the service they would provide for a very high price. We picked them over a cheaper company because of these lies. Packing seemed to go ok until we unpacked on the other side. So many boxes were poorly packed without paper and everything was jammed in the box. A lot of damage could have been avoided if they would have known how to pack a box properly. The movers hired for the unpack were horrible. Not one of them spoke English and the driver did not speak Spanish so there was a language barrier, which caused the movers to be at our house for 13 hours unloading the truck. These movers caused damage to our goods and our house and they had to be directed with every box. It was a nightmare day, that shouldn’t have taken that long. The same size trailer was unloaded in 6 hours when we moved the last time. When making the claim, we didn’t make a claim for much of the damage because it wasn’t worth our time. The claim adjuster is awful and makes you feel like you are lying for every item you claimed. If you don’t have dated pictures you can kiss your claim goodbye. They email you and expect an immediate response and when you don’t respond quick enough for them they threaten to close your claim. I’m sorry I am a mom of four managing life with a broken leg, but they don’t care about that. No aspect of this move was great from start to finish. Once you sign the documents for your very expensive move, the decent customer service is over. DO NOT MOVE WITH THIS COMPANY. THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOU OR YOUR ITEMS!!

Polite, on time and communicative. Ronn was an exceptional driver and the crew on both ends of our NC to Cleveland trip were caring, polite and careful

I have waited to write this review to give Gasperson a chance to make the problems with our loading right. Their operation manager Audra Godfrey has not only refused to make it right, but she has spoken (written) with disrespect in her communications. This is not a company which puts the customer first; it is clear that when the service is inferior, the customer is wrong. I would never use them again. If you are lucky and get good loaders, you may be happy with their service; if not, you will be out of luck.

Gasperson helped me with a recent move in NC & I had a great experience. The prices are reasonable & the staff was knowledgeable and professional. They handled my belongings with care & everything was in perfect condition when I received it. I hate assembling & disassembling furniture & they took care of this for me & did a great job! They also were able to get my furniture up a flight of stairs with ease! I would use them again in the future & recommend them if you need to move.

Gasperson moved me from Chapel Hill to Washington, DC in August of 2016. They did a phenomenal job packing and moving my furniture. They were extremely easy to work with and gave me a very reasonable and fair price. I used Gasperson again in 2018 when I moved from DC to Durham. Again, they were helpful and did an excellent job moving my furniture. No furniture was damaged and they were really nice to work with. Will definitely use them again in future moves.

My art manufacturing company shipped 3 boxes to a customer using Gasperson as the holding transfer co. Fed Ex shows all 3 delivered, Gasperson states they only received 1 , we have signatures for all 3. Not only were they not helpful, their attitude was horrible. Neither our customer nor my business will ever use them again, if yelp had a lower rating I would have used it.

In September 2018, we used gasperson to move us from Asheville to Charleston, SC. My complaint is not with the actual movers. They did a good job. My complaint is with the company's business manager. I made a single claim for a filing cabinet, which had been damaged during the move. After asking me not to report this to North American Van Lines, we negotiated a settlement of $50, which she promptly sent me a check in December. The check bounced. I contacted her immediately. She replied another check would be in the mail in few days. It's February 17, 2019 and I have yet to receive it. I have called several times and left messages. No return call. If I had given them a bad check and refused to honor it, I imagine they would have taken me to court. To me this is dishonest; a red flag that something is not going well with this business. I will not recommend them to future customers. Monday I must contact Asheville's BBB. Vance Mann

We used them for a recent move from Asheville after hearing positive things and seeing Yelp reviews. Unfortunately, I cannot give them a good rating. In my opinion, the customer service delivered by the office staff was extremely poor. And, in my experience, Gasperson Moving is not very good at communicating with their customers. Our first appointment for (paid) packing was cancelled on the day it was scheduled to happen by phone - with a claim by the operations manager that she had left a voicemail message the night before -- this was untrue. There was no record of any call from Gasperson. We continued to be polite and patient. The packers showed up the next day and were very nice, efficient guys, but the office puts the whole operation to shame. Our long distance move (12 hours away) could have gone much more smoothly. Problems with broken promises by the driver led me to call the office on a Saturday morning, only to learn that they do not answer calls after hours or on weekends! This was so frustrating. Their response 2 days later: take your complaint to North American Van Lines. My response: "But, don't you want to know if things go poorly?" I even emailed the president of the company -- no response. There is no place to go if you have a problem off hours or on a Saturday and want to contact them. And that was not clear when I hired them. Instead, you get switched to a call center in Indiana somewhere and they have no contact information for Gasperson's staff other than the same numbers that we had. I also tried emailing people there, asking for a quick call. No answers came until Monday, and then it was horrible! When I wrote a complaint via email on Monday I got a nasty attitude and excuses in the reply from the operations manager, Audra. I called later and asked to speak to the owner, Tom H. She answered. He was not in and after questioning, I told her that I was calling to complain about the poor service. I got an earful of her yelling her excuses. She actually hung up on me when I called out her unprofessional behavior. I have moved many times and never had a problem. So, based on our experience, I'd say go elsewhere if you need a local mover in Asheville, NC or long distance. We remain disappointed.

Run, don't walk away from using this company. They came recommended from our realtor and unfortunately we did not do our due diligence in researching other moving companies. They sent a person out to preview the items to be moved, and knew the scope going in. (1) On move day, they called and advised they were running late...showed up 45 minutes late (2) Showed up with the the wrong size truck...said that was the only size they had available to them (3) Showed up with insufficient amount of moving blankets...one man had to take one truck to get more and was gone over an hour. (4) They broke a table leg, and said it was "booby-trapped." (5) Showed up with no lunch...I bought them food. (6) Because they had a smaller truck, had to leave a ramp to be picked up the next day...we closed on the house the next morning. (7) They left without taking a front porch wrought iron bench (no room)...didn't even tell us. Ended up having to take it ourselves in a SUV (late at night). Reminded them several times about the empty aquarium...didn't acknowledge they left it. (8) Crew leader and crew member smoked cigarettes outside and left the butts on the driveway for me to pick up. (9) Truck(s) leaked oil on driveway...crew leader said they would come back and clean it...didn't happen (10) When backing a truck in, badly damaged several shrubs (11) Upon moving in, damaged walls in new house (12) Several items, including high end furniture pieces, were damaged...some due I'm sure to having to jam pieces in the "too small" truck. (13) When called the company to get walls fixed, and furniture repaired, repeatedly put us off. (14) Eventually showed up (4 weeks later) and spackled the walls...said he'd come back and paint. Still waiting. (15) Took a Windsor chair to repair (2 weeks ago) and haven't heard back. (16) Paid extra for insurance...requested to file an insurance claim for damaged furniture...was told only the General Manager could resolve...oh yeah, he happens to be in Croatia for the next two weeks. (17) Would not provide information and steps to file a claim. We have had good movers in the past, and this was a horrible experience.

I have used Gasperson Moving four times in the past five and a half years -- two times for my own household, and twice for my mother. Each time I was so relieved at how professional, polite and efficient everyone was. Even my mother was super pleased. Communications were great and the guys who did all of our moves have been terrific. Having had a terrible experience moving from the Washington DC area to Asheville (with a Virginia-based mover), I'm delighted to have discovered Gasperson. Highly recommended.
