We broke down in Asheville. Some locals recommended this garage. They treated us kindly, did the repairs for a fair price, well, and I would recommend them to anyone needing honest, competent mechanics.

The Organic Mechanic has earned my business for life. Jack, the manager went above and beyond to make sure our family car was repaired correctly. They stand behind their work and are transparent about the exact cost to expect. This is truly a place that treats you like family.Services: Auto engine diagnostic

My car alerted that the back brake pads were critical. I brought my car into the OM and they told me I needed to replace my back brake pads, sensors and rotors all the front stuff as well , replace brake fluid, etc etc etc for a price just under $2000. My car only had 24,000 miles on it. I asked what was the matter with the rotors and was told it’s a European car and they ALWAYS change the entire brake system out not just the pads. I called the mini dealer to see if this is normal and they said no. I told OM to do nothing and let them know what Mini said and they insisted that was their practice. I brought the car to the mini dealer. Needless to say only the rear brake pads and sensors needed changing…. Shame on you OM!I will say they didn’t make me pay the $70 brake inspection fee

I am absolutely stunned at the level of customer service at Organic Mechanic. I only gave them 5 stars because there’s not an option to give them more.I have had *the worst* trouble with shady mechanics for years, and I am beyond grateful that I have finally found a shop I trust completely, because I *know* they are honest and dependable. My car had an oil leak that ended up making the serpentine belt slip off. We were right around the corner from Organic Mechanic, so we limped in and had them fix it.Once we picked it up, everything was fine, until about an hour later, when the belt slipped off again.Multiple very serious issues followed before we could get back to the shop.It turns out the part was faulty and instead of throwing up their hands and saying “oh well” like every other mechanic I’ve dealt with in the last 5 years would have, they fixed the leak, the belt, and everything else that resulted from it. I cannot stress enough how much work they put into it. Let’s just say that these repairs were astronomical compared to what I originally went in for.I will never take my car to another mechanic in WNC.

Very honest and transparent. I appreciated that they didn't want to just "throw a part at a problem." Took my car in, got new tires and got some work done on the engine. Needed to drive 1000 miles back to Texas and clearly they did a great job because we made it.

High-priced work and I can't help but feel that some instances are a cash grab.I went in to have a spark plug replaced and my estimate just had a bunch of random quoted jobs on it for stuff that didn't need to be immediately done, including a $1800 quote for a valve cover gasket replacement from "leakage". My second opinion wanted us to come by just to see what in the world they were talking about. They stated it wasn't needed but quoted anyway at under $500.Just seems like randomly estimated things to see if the bait is taken regardless if its needed or not. Maybe its supposed to be a convenience thing, everything's subjective. But I'm not going back.Service: Electrical repair

This place is awesome! I was visiting AVL from another city and they helped me with a small issue for no charge. I would definitely go back to them!

Took my car here around 2 years ago, told them I thought I needed a simple hose change because I turned over a rock in my driveway, and there was a little fuel leaking. They proceeded to diagnose my car as pretty much totaled, and gave me a quote of “$6,500$” to fix. EVERYTHING was apparently wrong with it.They ended up mentioning to me, “ Sometimes our mechanics will buy cars to take them off your hands for projects if they’re totaled, we will give you 500$ for your car” At this time, I was freshly out of high school. I truly believe they noticed that and tried to scam/take advantage of the situation in every way possibility. After a second opinion the hose was replaced for about 60$. Nothing else was mentioned other than the hose, as that was the ONLY thing wrong with it. Fixed it. Nothing else has been done to it expect for regular oil changes since. The car that was apparently worth 500$ for a “ project car” since it was “ totaled” has been running absolutely perfect since. I absolutely do not recommend this shady place to anyone. They’ll try to scare you into selling them your car for cheap, thinking they’re helping you out since it’s “ totaled”.

Efficient and timely. They gave me accurate estimates and good advice on spacing out needed maintenance to my vehicle so I didn't need to shell out 1200 dollars all at once. Sent along pictures of my engine as well. Definitely seem to be focused on keeping customers long term. Will definitely be back.

Love the detailed reports they send. They will also stand by their work and help out if their original solution doesn't resolve your issue.

An amazing place, they did transmission fluid and new brakes. It is our only car so I was waiting there, they came out and asked if I wanted to use the lender car. Will probably never go anywhere else from now on.Services: Brakes

My wife took her car here for engine troubles. They said one turbo went bad and quoted $5300 to replace both. The closest Mini dealer is almost two hours away, so we agreed. After the fact, we called the dealer, who quoted $3700 for the same work/parts. Five months later, her car started making loud noises in the engine compartment and the cabin filled up with exhaust. We took it to another repair center, who found that one of the turbos had disconnected from the exhaust manifold because it was not properly connected and torqued.I called OM, and they paid the invoice, after talking to the repair place. I added one extra star for this. However, the insane pricing and shoddy labor will keep me from returning.

I was referred to organic mechanic under a falsehood of capabilities and I have 2 Mini coopers that they have worked on and my 2003 car was overheating I brought it into their location and they did an oil change I brought it back the very next week cuz my engine light was on after they falsely repaired I dropped $2300 in repairs with them and my car is leaking oil and they were the last people to put hands on it and the oil pan is leaking and whenever I brought it in this week for them to look at they didn't even put the dipstick back they are faulty they don't know what they're doing with Mini coopers I warning whoever is out there with a complicated car such as the BMW made Mini Cooper to avoid them completely they are not in support of their community and they have taken advantage of a single mom who's trying hard and spent over 4 grand with them and the last 6 months and they will not take responsibility of the damage they did to my vehicle. They have novice technicians straight out of AB tech community college that have no idea what they're doing they kept my other 2012 Mini Cooper for 2 months and disclosed to me they did not understand the codes these people are crooked and they will take your money and smile at you and send you on your way with haphazard mechanic like not even full knowledge level completion.Services: Oil change
