Visited in October 2014. Absolutely a must-visit spot. The Funkatorium serves an impressive selection of sour and funky barrel-aged Wicked Weed brews. The place charms with an interior that blends the warmth of a bodega with the conviviality of a German Bierstube. The absence of Wi-Fi was a minor inconvenience during my last visit, though this may have since been updated.

Got the #2 flight (pictured) and the #5 flight. Loved the #2 more. Awesome vibe with the funk music and art.

The beer was ok, and the thin lady bartender seemed to be mad at the world! She completely turned us off.

Ticks all the boxes! Stellar beer, warm and friendly service, and a beautiful space. We spent the afternoon sipping sours and playing cards and couldn’t have had a better experience.

Great beer selection. Love that they have a good sour selection if that's your thing. I absolutely loved the preselected flights. I had the wicked flight but my friends enjoyed the limited release and the roulette flights. This is definitely the best way to try a brewery.

the $15 buddha bowl was a very small amount of undercooked rice, raw tofu, and a few carrot and cabbage shreds?

The hostess wouldn’t let us head into the bar area and kept directing us to the outdoor seating area without giving any rationale. It was an uncomfortable experience and we left to explore other breweries that were more welcoming.

Refused our group service.

Horrible experience. Hosts were very awkward and kept trying to make us stay outside. Told us it was too crowded and then that we could go in one at a time and “good luck” getting a beer. Just not friendly or welcoming at all so we just left. Plenty of better spots in Asheville.

Sours are really trendy these days, but this place has specialized in them since long “before they were cool”! They have a huge selection of hard to find sours. They offer flights. The atmosphere is amazing, and I’ve never had a beer I didn’t absolutely love there!

Inside and outside bar. They aOffer food there. They offer alot of sour beers along with traditional lagers, ipa, stouts, etc. their food is really good! We got sandwiches and Buddha bowl and it was excellent. Parking available on the street and nearby lots. Some nearby lots you have to pay to park. Dog friendly for outside seating

I stopped by here on Christmas Eve Day, it was one of the few places open and my friend had put in a request for "anything" from here. I sat at the bar and took a look at the menu and was thrilled to see they had a wine flight sample, so I opted for that and it did not disappoint. I do wish there had been a sparkling option, but all of the ones I did try were great. I think my favorite was the sauv blanc! The bartender was really friendly and helpful in finding a good selection for my friend since I know pretty much nothing about wine. He gave me a list of options and told me the most popular ones, so I just went with that. I really liked this place overall, great vibes, lots of ample seating, and the food menu looked really appetizing. I will definitely grab a bite the next time I'm back.
