Everything about this beautiful resort makes me happy. I love the history, and the tribute to human effort and ingenuity it was when it was built. It feels almost sacred, walking the grounds. I hope to be here someday when it is very cold, and they have a giant fire roaring in the fireplace. I thank my lucky stars that we got to come here in the first place. There are plenty of less expensive places to stay in Asheville but none that give you this kind of experience. The service, the food, the accommodations, and the scenery are all without equal.

Wonderful hotel with an incredible atmosphere, stone walls, huge fireplaces in the lobby, many historical exhibits, excellent service and of course a panorama of the mountains, one of my favorite hotels

Beautiful lodge and view. I must see when in the Asheville area. The food was excellent. We were there the first night the kitchen was open and they did not have their shit together. Food took a long time to get. We were given a free round of wine and dessert for the slow food. Would definitely go back.

We did not stay here, but it's absolutely worth going anyway and wandering around the beautiful building! We found lots of interesting historical information and artifacts, as well as award-winning gingerbread houses from their competition and beautiful views! Worth a stop if you are in the area!

History & beauty aren't enough to score 4 or 5 stars. This is first & foremost a hotel. This review takes into account that the hotel is beautiful, but you're here to decide whether to spend your money here. Honestly, I won't come back. The excessive expense of it all just isn't worth it, to me. Breakfast: $32 per person not including tip. Food options are great. Resort fee: $70. What on earth did I get for this fee? You're paying for the history & beauty... a resort fee is usually charged because there is a variety of entertaining things to do (water slides, activities, etc...). I do not feel like I got anything for this fee. Pools: not part of your hotel stay. You must reserve (well in advance) a "Day Pass" to access the pools, jacuzzi, sauna, etc.... There are a very limited # of passes...if they run out of passes, you can still access the pools after paying for a spa service (massage, etc). As of 3/29/2024, Day Pass costs $244 per person. Open from 10am to 7pm. Food: Very good but very expensive. Dinner in the "upscale sports bar" for four with one appetizer & alcoholic drink each cost $240. Staff: best staff was found for Breakfast - attentive & friendly. Worst staff is found in Spa. From Stuart, who made me all but interrogate him so I could understand how to get a Day Pass, to the mature dark-haired intense woman at the check-in counter who argued with me saying she called me (but would not confirm what number she called), to the absent minded waitstaff around the outdoor pool who openly said, "Sorry we keep forgetting to bring your drink, we got busy with this party's drinks (the party of 6 who showed up after I had already ordered). Thank you for telling me they're more important. Exception: woman in the Spa shop was absolutely lovely. She should be at the front desk. Note: you must have reservations for dinner - get on the list early The room: lovely Mountain View. Our friends' room had not been cleaned from the previous tenant - bed a mess, towels on floor, trash, etc.... 6pm check in = room should be ready. Due to a "network outage" several rooms' door card keys did not work (& they could not make new ones) - we were one of the unlucky few. Paying $1200 for two nights, & couldn't open our own door - had to call security & wait each time. Dueling pianos was an absolute blast! There are a ton of restaurant option with 2 miles - grab an Uber & enjoy (many require reservations call at least a week in advance). We ate at Sonora - absolutely delicious!

It was amazing to see the history of the establishment and the grand nature of the structure. It takes forever to walk everywhere but worth it. The view from the back deck is INSANE!!! I will say they are very proud of their services cause prices just as insane as the deck. Two drinks at the bar was $64 before tip. Rooms were pretty pricey as well. Don't get me started on items in the shops. #stupidexpensive. I recommend coming to see the place, get the seafood buffet (that was reasonably priced at $60 per person) and enjoy the history.

I must say I am disappointed in their decision to make this wonderful hotel pet friendly. we have visited twice over the last 6 months and each time we have had an unpleasant experience because of the dogs roaming the hotel. in addition to barking, the dogs are allowed on the couches. This seems inconsiderate for those people allergic to dogs! The next time you want to sit and enjoy a book by the fire you might have to check for dog hair and bring some earplugs! it's a shame to see this historical landmark go to the dogs!

This was a last minute getaway idea and it was amazing. The inn is filled with so much history and the views are spectacular. We were fortunate enough for it to snow while we were here to add to the atmosphere. We will be back.

This is our third time staying at Grove Park Inn and just like every time before I am always impressed, Amalya at the front desk was so very helpful and went above and beyond to make our stay so nice. I can never say enough about Grove Park Inn.

I just love this place. This history, architecture... it's all so beautiful. We've had meals here multiple times and I'm sure we will be back. Sunset terrace- get those reservations months in advance cause during the summer it is BOOKED. Especially October. Great food, delicious drinks. A great date night meal. Our boys did well for dinner there but I wouldn't take them back because they cannot appreciate the quality of food for the price. I would take them to... The Blue Ridge Buffets! Our new holiday tradition. Breakfast buffet first (during the week for less crowds, make those reservations months in advance!) then go walk the Gingerbread display. The boys loved all the pancakes, omelets, grits and bagels... I know this will be a great memory every year for them. We've also had the dinner buffet, husband and I, and so much good food we were completely stuffed afterwards. Bountiful seafood and quality meats. The oyster shucking lady said once she shucked 30 oysters for one person. Oh my word. We will always go back to the Omni Grove because it's just so beautiful.

$80 for 4 hot chocolates with whipped cream. Seriously pathetic. We aren't even tourists. Get a freaking grip Omni. This is an absolute disgrace. Too bad your one remaining wood fire place and view of the mountains makes people come there, because they're all going to leave disappointed

This is the second time we went to the Grove Park Inn, the first time we weren't impressed since the hotel seems overcrowded in all the public areas (very loud) and customer service wasn't up to par, however our friends wanted to go there since they had never been before and all of us had scheduled a Biltmore tour. The first night I was spoken rudely to from a bar waitress because I was too close to the waitress station (the bar was three feet deep in front of the bar due to some kind of party on the premises). I couldn't believe that she singled me like that. We stayed two nights, however two strikes this hotel is out!!! Will not return. I do want to give a kudos to the elevator staff and the maids. They were the Inns only saving grace, that's why the one star.

I've not stayed overnight at the Omni Grove Park Inn, I've just gone for the day at various times, depending on what is going on. The hotel is large and has numerous restaurants, a spa, shopping and museums. Then the views are just amazing. When the weather was warmer, I did spend time outside. This time I spent some time sitting in front of the fireplaces and enjoyed the warmth and the atmosphere. On my most recent visit, I was lucky enough to find parking so that I could go see the gingerbread houses that were in various parts of the hotel. What a treat it was to see all the creativity and talent of those who made the pieces of art with gingerbread and other materials. I liked that they had maps so nobody would miss out on finding the gingerbread houses as they were in the two wings and on another level. I hope to make it back another year to see the gingerbread creations again. After browsing the gingerbread creations, I had a lovely lunch in one of the restaurants. I will be back again to the hotel for the day depending on what events are happening and will likely stay a night or two at some point. Although I tend to stay at Marriott properties.

I love this place. Yes it's expensive but you get what you pay for. We always come for the gingerbread houses and a couple times throughout the year. It's beautiful to visit throughout the year.
