The store itself is set up well, and I was able to find the face wipes/moisturizer I was looking for without a problem. Couldn't believe how great the selection and professionalism were all around. My daughter loves Ulta Beauty. Very friendly staff, the store is always clean. Ulta has so many products it takes more than one trip for my daughter to take it all in. They have great products at a very reasonable price.

My chip was not working and the reader would not let me swipe (I'd just used the card in three other Asheville Mall stores). They sent me home with a free shipping card. I don't think it was anyone's fault just very inconvenient.

I love the store , they carry all products I love. But it's become re occurring that the employees follow me around while shopping & give me dirty looks. This one girl who's always there. Has a bun, rolled her eyes at me after I asked help finding a product & she said they no longer carried it . Then another employee handed it to me. As well as a hair stylist who was working.. she asked me for help in a rude way & then walked around the back corner & talked about my weight out loud s. This was a minute after she asked if I needed help. She then came back around & asked if I needed help AGAIN. Like I would be stealing .??! Spend 100-200$ every time I come here, !!! & the owner continues to put the same exact response on my reviews to contact the ulta help email which I did the day of the incident & have not heard back in about 5 days! Great manager

Went into Ulta with my mother-in-law & witnessed her experience. She had a nail remedy bought there called NailTek but didn't have the receipt since she'd bought it nearly 3 months earlier. She had to use the product that long to make it work! It didn't work!!! The sales clerk went through the motions of a return. Then sign a receipt for return of $15+ dollars. Turns out her refund would be .77 cents! Since she didn't have receipt -- although she was in their computer system. The small change was an insult so she told clerk to keep the product & she left the store. This kind of customer treatment will eventually get around with the other negative experiences of others that have been in social media.

Great staff and great selection. I highly recommend this location for all of your beauty needs! The customer service is terrific and though it is often very busy, the girls at the register make certain the line goes quickly. Excellent management and one of the cleanest Ultas I have ever encountered. I highly recommend this location!!

I give this place the worst of reviews. I came into have my hair colored. They burnt my hair so bad that I lost most of my hair. I looked like a cancer patient. Had to have most of my hair cut off. To even it out. No I look like a man. When I called to get them to resolve the problem. They said they couldn't help me. Imagine like most women there hair is there look. I hate my look I hate that they would even refund my money back. The hair dresser said if I was there hour more. I would have to pay her 400.00. When I got a estimate it was only 150.00 at the most. When she handed me the bill it was 350.00. Plus she was upset I didn't tip her at all. Gave me a look of discuss.

I am always super satisfied with my visits to this Ulta, the employees are super helpful and knowledgeable about their products and which ones are suitable for a persons skin. Today I went it and everyone was eager and glad to help me out in picking out a concealer that matched my needs. Super pleased. The store was clean and welcoming 5/5.

This place is amazing! The staff, one and all, have always been super helpful. The gals (& guys) are quick to approach and offer help. They always ask the right questions and do their best to give the right answers! I NEVER feel pressured to buy. I always feel important! Its been so wonderful, that I'm already Platinum Reward status!

Absolutely horrible. Literally the worst Ulta I've ever experienced. Don't waste your time, go somewhere else. No one gives a darn about their customers in the store, except for one of the aestheticians. Nothing is ever in stock. There is no standard of customer service. Although after meeting and having interaction with the salon manager and the floor manager I completely understand the lack of standard. They appear to be insecure, uncared for, unprofessional, vulgar slobs. All the employees are permitted to leave drinks trash food wrappers anywhere they please. (Especially since none of the trashcan's even have liners in them.) I have personally traveled to Ulta is around the country. I have utilized all of their services and been a faithful shopper. I will never return to this one.

Not sure how every other Ulta is, but the salon inside the Asheville Ulta at the mall has been a great experience. Ive been coming here over four years now and working with the same hairdresser the entire time. I highly recommend Brandon and the rest of the salon team. You wont more attentive mens & womens stylists for the price in Asheville. I'm in the Rewards program and what i spend in the salon counts towards points for product in the store. Honestly, my wife takes the points and uses them for makeup, lipstick and eye cream. I also sent my wife in here for her bridal makeup and the experience was wonderful as well!

Terrible salon experience. Do not go for a updo. They will book you but the girl did not know what she was doing. She did 2 different styles, took it out and proceeded to tell me my hair couldn't be put into a updo.. I got married last year and have had several up dos. It's called you don't know what you are doing. The ponytail she considered a updo fell before I made it to the wedding.looked terrible and the managers there were rude and not helpful do not go to this salon

This place is ok, not great. But it is mainly because they are understaffed, not occasionally...but every time! I went in a few days ago and there was only one cashier and a line of about 10 people, she called over her radio for help twice and no one came. She was also trying to process a return and couldnt get anyone to come to the desk to approve it. I had one 6 dollar item and had already waited in line 15 minutes to pay for it, finally i had to lay it on the counter and apologize that i didnt have time to wait that long. I wasnt mad at the cashier, it wasnt her fault. But waiting in like for 15-20 minutes for a 6 dollar item is absurd. I will just go to CVS.

Got my hair done here. Extremely overpriced compared To beauty salons; Color took 4 hours and when it was finished the hairdresser admitted she "messed up" because the color wasn't even what she wanted. By the time I was all done they were closing so she said "come back another time and I'll fix it" color was overall decent though.

The only reason why I am giving them a two star rating is because of the last cashier that checked me out, and I do love the rewards, but now I shop online.
I don't always wear make up, esp when I go shopping. I have gone at least a dozen or more times in the past year, and no one ever helps me. They just walk by and never ask if I need help or not.
On two occasions I had to find someone. The first time I found a guy working there, and was asking for help about a concealer shade for me, as I have never used concealer before, and I told him that and he gave me this look like it was obvious and acted like I was stupid.
The second time, I was looking for something specific, I have a disability that makes it hard for me to stand and walk over the place, yet I walked around the store 2 times front to back, isle to isle trying to find someone to help me, and I could not find someone, if I did they turned around and walked away so freaking fast. When I finally went to the front to check out with the items I did find, I asked the cashier and she looked so mad that I asked her about the item. God forbid they work hard.
I finally felt the need to review them, as I was looking up the reviews on the brow bar, and after seeing so many bad reviews, I felt it was time to finally give my opinion.
Now I have never been to another Ulta than this one, so I am unsure if all Ulta's employees are rude and useless but this one is, minus unfortunately the cashier I do not know her name. She at least didn't have a full on conversation with the other cashiers as she check me out, which most do.
Ulta has great rewards program, great credit card, and good selection of products, but I will stick to online ordering to ever buy things from this company, as their customer service needs to be fixed ASAP.

New to Asheville, looking for reliable salon, I had an appointment for highlights with the salon manager, Dawn, after hearing high praise for her 30 yrs experience with hair color. When I arrived she told me my hair was too short (although I've had them before-same hair cut) and said she would have to do all-over color, then frost. I should have walked then, but was leaving in just a few days for a big trip and wanted to get ready. And I'm rather casual about hair things, just want some highlights and a good cut.
Anyway, 2 1/2 hrs later I left, feeling over-processed and tired. Got home and saw the results in natural light. Ugh! She had "fried" my frosted hair and left it whiter than the hair I went in with. Bad cut too.
Next day I called the salon and they scheduled me for a fix with a different stylist. Another 2 1/2 hrs, lots more chemicals and a better outcome, but will be much higher maintenance than my desired highlights.
I also expected an offer to refund at least a portion of the very expensive first round - and an apology. None.
Contacted the Ulta customer service rep who told me the local rep would be in touch. Nope.
Do not go there!!!

I first heard of Ulta Salon because I'm one of those people that compliment a stranger's hair then ask where they got it done. I've been given the answer Ulta Salon several times more than any other salon in town. My thoughts have always been a mixture of apprehension because it's in the mall and impressed because the haircuts I've seen have always been really good. It was a Sunday and not many salons are open on Sunday so I thought I would scour yelp for salons that were open. I had first called a prominent west Asheville salon that was open but they put me on hold three times and then hung up on me when they decided I couldn't possibly be on hold anymore. I was not detered I wanted a change. No, I needed a change. It was time to change my hair and I didn't want to wait anymore. So I called Ulta. They answered, they were nice, I wasn't put on hold three times and they had an opening with one of their senior stylist. It is definitely a strange space. There's no privacy when getting a haircut. But the team of stylists are friendly and hilarious which is a nice distraction from the beauty store shoppers. Listening to them banter made me wish I worked with them. The shampoo was done in a room a bit more private than the hair salon. The scalp massage that comes with the wash was phenomenal. Oh my god I would pay just to have them wash my hair. My plan was to unburden the locks I've been growing for the past five years and donate them. I had a few short styles I've been eyeing. The stylist Brandon looked at them with me and we talked about my plans. He was very nice and helpful. He understood I wanted bangs from one hairstyle and the cute layered look of another one. They braided my hair and lopped off 16" right to my shoulders. When I looked in the mirror I decided I loved the shoulder length he had initially cut it to. He agreed to change plans on the fly and he gave me a creative blend of layers and length and I am ecstatic with the results. My hair feels light, healthy, there is movement in the style and lots of body from the layers. I can't thank Brandon enough for unburdening my head and giving me an updated fresh look that I absolutely adore.

This store is awful. The staff has no knowledge of makeup, the shelves are always trashed, and never have products in them. I went in looking for a full coverage foundation I asked the young women what her recommendation would be and she took me to the skin care area and told me to look there. She clearly had no knowledge of makeup at all. To add to my frustrations of this store they never have products. I'll ask when shipments will be arriving and come the day they say. When there are still no products on the shelves they blame me for coming too late in the day and they were all sold out. I find it hard to believe that in a matter of a few hours that this store would sell out of 10 foundations. The only reason this store is still in Business and can get away with treatment of customers this way is because there's no other place to buy higher end make up in the Asheville area.

Store and shelves were trashed, random product lying everywhere, packages all opened and used and little to no product actually in stock. Really disappointed. Weren't greeted when we entered and no workers acknowledged us while shopping.
