Great quality foods and brands. Loves up to the Whole foods chain. 4 instead of 5 stars because they are pretty cramped inside vs other whole foods, and their cafe is only outside.

Generally helpful personnel and good assortment of food and beverage. Prices on some items are higher that in comparable stores. The prime app does not work here properly for paying at checkout.

Not a great Whhole Foods storeI can say it is poorly managed .1 hour before closing time, you could barely find any bred .I have been in many different Whole Foods stores, and I can easily compare .Other than that, you find here the standard quality of the chain

I'm a Whole Foods fan and this one did not disappoint. They had the quality products I look for and the prices were pretty typical. The staff was friendly and I appreciate the chocolate selection!!

A fairly smallish Whole Foods, but stocks essentially everything you’re looking for. Ample parking for its size, but expect to bump elbows with your neighbour when rounding aisle-corners. Staff is helpful enough, but either overworked or understaffed. Wheelchair accessible.

I absolutely love shopping at Whole Foods. It just feels good. Everything is fresh, and convenient. Whether I need a quick lunch or no fuss dinner, or I'm wanting to go all out with a 5 star spread, Whole Foods has me covered.

This place used to be okay. It's just not a good place anymore. The hot bar is terrible. The pizza is terrible. They have a couple of okay employees and everyone else who works there seems resentful as soon as you walk up to the register

I love Whole Foods. I eat all organic and am vegan and between the quality of the produce and their history of customer service (in my experience) I have been a loyal customer for years. This Whole Foods on Merrimon has me changing my opinion of Whole Foods. About 1/2 the time the check out person has attitude and clearly does not want to bag your groceries. I always help out- I never stand there and let someone else do all the work. But there are cashiers here who don't think it is their job to help you pack your bags at all and it is delivered with a very heavy dose of attitude. Today was the worst and it prompted me to come to Yelp to write this review. I had a woman cashier who checked all my things and just kept piling it up in a heap at the end of the check out desk. It was so overfull the logical thing would be to stop and start to bag things but no she just kept tossing things in a pile. At one point she was THROWING things into said pile. Keep in mind I had sensitive fruit at the bottom of this pile. I asked her if she can please help me bag the groceries and that I would also do some. She said she would but then proceeded to slow down considerably as she checked my produce- intentionally taking a long time so as not to have to help me bag my groceries. It was very weird- even my child commented on it and also asked why she was throwing things. She did finally end up begrudgingly bagging 2 of my 6 bags- and she haphazardly tossed things in the bag with no order. A sushi roll was sitting sideways, a heavy item was on top of peaches that were on top of the sushi roll. I had to repack the bags in my trunk to ensure my produce did not get ruined and the sushi roll did not explode all over the place. She is not the first person at this Whole Foods that clearly does not know how to pack a bag- but to be honest with the attitude that was delivered with it felt like she intentionally packed the bag crappy. I have had 2 other people at this store do the same thing- as if they on purpose do a bad job to make you not want them to help you with your bags. Not everyone is like this at this store- there is one woman and one man who are exceptional, very helpful and kind, and super organized with bag packing to the point that I am impressed and I compliment them on it. But the fact that about 1/2 the time I experience something like I did today has me seriously considering shopping at the Co-op, Trader Joes and/or Earthfare instead. And this is saying a lot from someone who has exclusively shopped at Whole Foods for over a decade.I hope a manager reads this and takes it to heart. You will lose customers with your staff acting like this. I used to work in customer service - so I am kind and friendly to people working in this position because I know how it feels to not be treated respectfully. This is not a case of these cashiers having attitude with someone who gives them attitude to begin with. It appears to be a case of people who either hate their job or they hate people. Either way- it's not a good look Whole Foods.

They had the Ultimate Replenisher I was looking for. Low sodium but high potassium and magnesium. Most items are higher cost, but very good assortment of vegan selection items.

Better than many of their other locations. I love as many options I can get to organic produce, and this is one of three organic purveyors right next to each other. I used the store this time to return something I bought on Amazon. They sure have streamlined the return process!

This used to be a company called Green life that was a local grocery store. Then whole foods, being a predatory company, came in and made the owners and offer they couldn't refuse or they would build right next door and undercut all of their prices...essentially bleeding them dry. The same way Walmart takes over small towns. Amazon is a disease and whole foods is just one arm of it's endless hydra heads. On the positive side, I have heard the employees are paid decently for Asheville and have good benefits. But all the money is being sucked out of the local economy into Bezos pocket so I'm still fervently against. Some of the specials are ok, but the aisles are too small and it's quite hard to make it through it.We're stuck with it now though, whole foods ain't going nowhere, that's for sure.

Just passing through town & needed something & found this excellent WF. Smaller but packed full. Got a toothbrush I was looking for that was 1/2 the price of my hometown WF. Of course, I could not walk out with a few more things. They also carry my absolute favorite confection. Super friendly cashier. Busy & small parking lot with lots of Subarus. Ours fit right in!

I freaking love Whole Foods but if we're being fully honest, the Tunnel Rd. location is just on an entirely different level and way wayyyy better than the Merrimon location. Still, Merrimon works in a pinch and their hot pizza (sold by the slice) has gotten me through the day more times than I care to confess. ? I also really appreciate the Amazon lockers at both Whole Foods locations... but I especially appreciate Merrimon's Amazon lockers because, unlike Tunnel Rd., on Merrimon the lockers are located on the outside of the building (whereas they're located inside the Whole Foods on Tunnel Rd.). This means you can come grab your packages whenever and totally at your convenience 24/7...even if it is past 10pm and Whole Foods has already shut down for the night. That rules!

The store was clean. The staff were friendly. They have a good selection of organic food and some amazing pastries. I bought the chicken ceasar wrap for lunch and my sister got the blacken chicken wrap. Both were stuffed with chicken as well as veggies and so yummy. I'll definitely get lunch from them again when I'm in the area.
