Other than several shoppers not wearing masks and the amount of people crowded into areas storing bakery and produce, the shopping experience was fine. I found everything I needed, produce seemed fresh, beer cold, large selection of everything from pancake mixes and syrups to lunch meat. The store is clean, well stocked, and easy to navigate. The checkout line seemed very slow, but cashiers were friendly. When I forgot a bag of ice until after I had checked out, another cashier without a line because she wasn't open yet, rang me up without waiting. That's service! Thanks

(From the archives. Visited this store multiple times in June of this year and July of last year.) It always reminds me that we are in NC whenever we visit a Food Lion. I say that because coming from PA where FL doesn't exist, the only times I have ever been inside one are here and at the location in Corolla. This store is located conveniently on the "main drag" of Atlantic Beach in what for all intensive purposes is the only strip mall on this part of the island. Plenty of stuff a short drive back on to the mainland in Morehead City, but this is it for what is close to AB and Pine Knoll. I would classify this place as a small town boutique supermarket. This is certainly not a warehouse store and it's also not something like a Wegmans which in terms of square footage and choices would dwarf this place. No, what you're getting here is a solid dose of tourist/beach essentials that leans heavily towards their store brand generics. Not to say that any of that is bad as the pricing and quality of their store branded offerings are quite good. A few things to keep in mind: * I would imagine that the hours vary here seasonally. I know the Food Lion in Corolla can be open 24/7 in summer and in late December be shutting down at 7pm. We've only been here in season and both years the hours were 6am-Midnight. * It goes without saying that in season this store is always packed. Even coming here at 8am on a weekday will yield a fairly busy crowd. * Lots of open registers and if you don't have their MVP card they are more than happy to let you use a store card or sign you up for a card of your own no problem. * Two minor potential downsides. One is that the deli here is on the small side. They don't pre-cut a lot of things and their selections in general are small. Hopefully you like their two types (generalized) of turkey because that's all your getting. My local Giant Store between their brand and Boar's Head has ?? eight types of turkey. If you're big on going to the grocery store and buying a bunch of grab and go meals/sides, not here, as those types of choices are more or less non-existent. Overall the store is clean and well stocked. If I lived in the area I would probably be shopping here. It's not fancy by any means but it gets the job done. Good enough for me.

I use to visit this establishment 2 to 3 times a week during the summer and once on the weekends in off season. Something has changed major there this summer. The last and final visit we had such bad service (we were a party of 2 at this visit my mother and me) we sat for 20 mins with no drinks and then when drinks did come they were messed up. We order a Margarita size large on ice. It came as a small and frozen the waitress seemed confused and made no action to fix it no biggie we drank it. a table of 6 came in 25mins after we were seated an were greeted like family out of towners as a comment was made how long are you in town for. They sat right next to us. They got there drink asap and food 15mins before our food. When we did get our food it was cold and the order was not correct. At this point I made an attempt to talk with owner I asked him did I do something in my last visit to upset you? He said no I said I am just tring to understand what is going on it was like we were purposely neglected. He had no answer and no apology no correction on misorder food either. I was completely d*** founded and shocked about his lack of caring if he would have shown the tiniest bit of concern or apologetic they would still have my business. They were not busy at the time of our visit only 4 tables. It just didnt make sense. I am only left to think he no longer wanted our business. So we will no long patronize this business. I have found a new Mexican restaurant to give my business too now.

Visited Atlantic Beach. Cashiers were very friendly, and checkout was relatively quick - expected worked. Good selection of essentials at very competitive pricing - no price gouging. Gave us use of the in-store discount card. Great selection of wine, and some very inexpensive. A positive experience.

When i asked for a different table the male hostess was very rude. He took our silverware and threw it on the table and walked away.

Nice, big, clean store. Large selection of alcohol. A little confusing to find certain items but overall a good experience.

The reviews are true. Great staff, great food, huge portions, and drinks with actual booze and not just mixer. But, please don't come here and crowd the place. I prefer to keep it a secret. Go somewhere else! My wife had the fajitas and she reported that it was the best fajitas she has ever had!

Looked like such a fun place and we were excited to try the food! Online and store signs said they opened at 11, so we were surprised to find it closed at 11:15 when we arrived. We called and were told it would open at 11:45, which was tough because the kids were hungry already. We decided to hold out and went to the gift store next door to pass the time. At 11:30 my husband went just to check and found the restaurant open! We checked out and headed over but by the time we got there the door was locked again and lights were out. Weird. He called to ask what was up and got hung up on. We waiting till 11:47 and I called again and got hung up on. I really wish we'd just known from the beginning that the place wouldn't be opening till much later. Hoping to find something good in Morehead.

Tucked between a grocery store and a gift shop, you'll find La Ceiva (I still don't know what the name signifies). This small restaurant leaves a big impression. The decor is festive and whimsical. The service is excellent--polite, accommodating, and prompt. The chips and salsa (complimentary) were fresh and tasty. I loved the chunky, well-spiced salsa. They have a large menu, but it's not overwhelming. My party had the choripollo (the chorizo was perfectly cooked, but the chicken was slightly over) and alambres texanos. Both were delicious. Did I mention the water? It's excellent. Some other restaurants on the island have a yellowish water that tastes of plastic. Not here. Pure perfection. Overall, give these guys a shot.

This mexican restaurant has particularly good salsa and seafood. The seafood was fried, like local southern Calabash style, and then served Mexican style. For example, the fish tacos had large pieces of very fresh fish, inside soft corn tortillias, with spur cream, guacamole, and a sweet coleslaw that was a particularly tasty garnish. It was served with rice and refried beans. The empanatas camerones were simply fried and breaded shrimp. Very good, fresh from the ocean, fried shrimp. They were served with rice and a guacamole salad. All in all, expect to be surprised and pleased, especially if you like Calabash style seafood, but with Mexican side dishes.

Had the Hawaiian fajitas (chicken, shrimp, beef) served in a pineapple hull. It was very delicious. I brought home more than I ate as it was a very large portion. The staff was super friendly and attentive. I have dined here several times and always experience a good quality meal with friendly ambiance.
