“We recently celebrated our daughter’s wedding at The Inn on Pamlico Sound, and it was nothing short of exceptional. From start to finish, everything ran seamlessly—the weather was beautiful, the food and drinks were outstanding, and the entire staff went above and beyond to make the weekend special.
A huge thank-you to Meredith, who was truly the heart of it all. She was incredibly responsive, organized, and supportive throughout the planning process and the entire weekend. She made everything feel easy and enjoyable, and we were so grateful to have her guiding the event.
Our daughter, son-in-law, and their bridal party had an unforgettable time, and our guests couldn’t stop raving about the service, the setting, and the overall experience. The attention to detail from the entire team made a lasting impression.
We’re so thankful to The Inn on Pamlico Sound for helping create such a meaningful and joyful celebration. We’re already looking forward to returning for future visits—it’s a place we’ll always cherish.”

“We loved our stay here. Didn’t see one bug in our room. We stayed in 109 right on the beach so close that our neighbors were fishing off their balcony. Huge fishing community in Buxton. I found it peaceful and fun to watch people. There was hardly anyone else in our part of the beach so we had a lot of privacy and it was very quiet. The front most room even had their music on but you can’t hear much very far away because the ocean drowns everything out. It’s seriously close. Our room was clean but people should be aware that motels by the beach often have rusty places due to the high salt levels. That’s anywhere close to the beach. They ask you to sweep up after you leave because it’s your sand you’re tracking it as well! It’s your trash you brought in too so they ask you to take it out and clean up after yourself. People complaining about this are silly. It’s a small motel in a very small town. People are kind, clean and mostly conservative. It’s custom here to clean up after yourself! Yes they have cats here. They are precious and we saw about 5 or 6 different ones around our motel and the one next to us (Cape Hatteras motel). They do not bother anyone and in fact most will run from people. Beds were comfy, our tv worked, toaster worked, coffee pot worked, microwave worked, lights worked, lots of clean towels, beds were clean. *things I noticed* the blinds on the far side of the room were too small for the window leaving you a bit exposed. The two front outlets by the front door did not work.If we visit Buxton again we would consider staying here again. In fact, I stayed here with my parents over 30 years ago and we loved it then too. They have new owners now but the town is tightly knit. Ask the towns people you meet about the area and you’ll find connections. A lovely, cozy little town with everything you need and we loved our little room by the beach.Nearby activities: Parasailing, surfing, go karts, fishing charter, kayaking, horseback riding, spotting wild horses, fishing, hiking, ferry ridingWalkability: We walked a long way on the beach and it was beautiful and not a lot of peopleFood & drinks: Drive the island and there’s lots of surf and turf, pizza, tacos, seafood, treats, and if you like arcades Angelo’s had a great one!”
“Huge THANK YOU to Trey at Avon Motel. We were in a bind with our departure date aligning with unfortunate road closures and ferry closures due to weather and storm wash-out; Trey got us a great room for a full day and night at a great price. The room was clean and well equipped, very close to the beach, quiet at night...couldn't ask for more. Our entire family appreciates all of the staff at Avon Motel. We will surely visit again.”
