My husband and I stopped here back in April 2023 traveling from Kinston to Scotland Neck looking for a home to buy, BEST breakfast sandwich EVER! We ended up moving from NJ to Rocky Mount and I will definitely be making the 53 minute drive up to Ayden just for some breakfast sammichs! Delicious!Wish I could take 1/2 star off because the bathrooms were pretty gross and hadn't been cleaned in awhile. The food prep area was sparkling though thankfully so still giving 5 stars!

#62/2023 Located along the eastern shore of North Carolina Just North of Kinston North Carolina about 20 minutes is your classic roadside grocery store Cafe. These are your classic general stores with hot plate lunches and breakfast served throughout the day It's a small little place in a small little town just outside of Ayden a industrial town. They no longer have diesel pumps of course have gas and alcohol beer sales etc. Big on people traveling home or to work locals. they were pulled up years ago but they do have truck parking a lot of local truck drivers Park and leave their stuff here. It has a very strong following of locals every now and then a traveler will pass through but for the most part this is very big with the locals. I was hungry I saw the truck parking I pulled in I came in and used the bathroom it was clean this is an old building. They had a hot deli bar with plate lunches that were just getting finished it would be about another hour if you wanted Burger hamburgers and more stuff cooked till the dinner lady comes in and Cooks things ready until 5:00 or 6:00 p.m.. They had a still nice warm big giant chopped hamburger and brown gravy I got some nice hot french fries with brown gravy and it was very good. This is the kind of place where if you're a trial or you probably wouldn't pay twice a look and just Cruise right by headed up towards the main city. But it's classic little roadside stores that keep small little towns thriving.

Excellent fried chicken, one exception of one of the workers giving the smallest pieces without maybe adding at least one larger piece.She’s not very friendly. But overall the service is good

The parking is difficult. The restrooms were very dirty and so was the store .They cared more about the cooked food than anything else. More like visiting a food truck. No greetings just hurry up and move for the next customer.They don't accept ebt. Purchased 3 candy bars because I had a low sugar drop. One of the candies was expired by over a year!

Traveling from Virginia Beach to Atlantic beach. Little gas station, convenience store and takeout grill. Fried chicken was the best I've ever had. Staff and customers are very friendly. Great place for a pit stop.

I drove 4 hours to get there to get the fried chicken. Was out of sweet tea.
