So, I also noticed a dead bug. Hopefully that's going to be it for the next 3 days. Allison was great at customer service, and making me feel at home, which is definitely a must for a bed and breakfast. However, the weekend person was not as accommodating. Lots of push back, and it made me not feel as I wanted to in an expensive B&B. The final straw though was no golf cart cover end of October and only excuses for why I would have to drive in formal attire in a heavy thunderstorm and gusty winds without them. Again, not the service I was expecting and leaves me feeling uncomfortable about my stay here, alone.

We visit the Inn a couple of times a year and have just returned from another wonderful stay. We can't say enough about the hospitality, the wonderful new breakfast options, and the new and refreshed decor around the Inn. Every time we return, we find wonderful new improvements to the property - not that we didn't love it before! Keep it up!

A cozy little inn that's a great solution if you don't have a whole week to spend on Bald Head Island. Centrally located on the harbor, walking distance to restaurants and shops. A golf cart comes with with every room; Amy at the front desk was kind enough to let us have ours a little early as we arrived before check-in time. Rooms are nicely appointed, beds comfortable. Breakfast included, nice selection with great coffee. Bicycles available free of charge. Whenever we have a long weekend to spend on Bald Head Island we will spend it here.

Greeted by a cockroach in our room and many more after. Ashamed as Inn was probably great place 5 or so years ago. Upkeep especially exterior is embarrassing I am sure for owners at the Inn. For a B & B the bed was weak and the breakfast allot to be desired. Cannot recommend to anyone to stay a MHI.

Great B&B located on the Marina and with a view of the ocean. Close to restaurants, and easy access to the beaches. Wonderful staff and accommodations. Enjoyed our visit!

We were so disappointed with our room (room 20, Shoals Retreat) that we cut our trip short and did not stay our second night. What the description of the room does NOT tell you is that the bathroom is accessible only through the master bedroom; the hallway is accessible only through the bunk bed room, and the "special area for your convenience that offers a small refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker complete with starters of delicious coffee and gourmet teas" is in the bunk bed room. This set up is okay for parents with two small children, but it does not work well for three adults who are reluctant to disturb sleeping adults or who would like some modest privacy. But what made the room totally unusable for us is that bunk beds are too uncomfortable for a night's rest. They are small, rickety, cheap; there are no springs, just some board slats; and the "mattress" is just a thin pad. The light located next to the bed apparently has been broken for years. The master room is located in a first floor corner with windows running on two sides. The porch and sitting area outside means you have strangers looking in--unless you pull all of the shades. While the bunk beds can easily be replaced, if the owners cared, the website description needs a serious overhaul to make clear that this room is not suitable for more than two adults.

I imagine this Inn was very nice in years past, but it is showing it’s age. Peeling paint, cracks in walls, no painting hanging level on the wall, pests, etc. We were there to celebrate an Anniversary. Rented room 20 on the first floor. Noticed a dead bug in the small sitting area when we arrived. We were surprised to discover a live bug (roach) crawl in from the hallway on day 2. Was horrified to be awakened by one crawling on my arm in bed during the last night of our stay. Needless to say, we left on the first ferry! Apart from that, the room didn’t offer much privacy and was tiny. Could easily hear conversations from the Inn’s porch and hallway. Upstairs guests were loud and easily heard. We also visited after many COVID related restrictions in the state had been lifted, but the Inn continued it’s no maid service policy and offered no breakfast. There were no reductions in cost or other accommodations made to provide breakfast to guests. The staff we interacted with were nice enough, but no one was around to address the insect situation. And, no one has inquired about our stay since we left. Disappointing.

Our stay at The Marsh Harbour Inn was delightful! We recently spent 3 days there for a quick honeymoon. The space is warm, inviting & plush with amenities. What really made our stay amazing, however, was the innkeeper Christie. She was beyond helpful, kind, & personable. After our first day we returned to our room to find a lovely gift….Stunning roses, champagne, chocolates and a hand written note of congratulations from Christie. This was completely unsolicited, she just overheard us mention it was our honeymoon. Wow! Talk about personalized service. It was such a nice surprise and really made the whole trip feel special.I cannot recommend Christie and the Marsh Harbour Inn highly enough!
