One of the best gyms I’ve been to lately. It has a lot of equipments that I didn’t even find at Golds gym! The staff is very friendly, the atmosphere is nice and had one of the best workouts that I’ve had in a very long time. The owner works there himself so you know the gym is clean and he also offers to help or spot you if you need it. Overall, great experience, wish I had a gym like this in Charlotte. I recommended this gym to anyone that comes to Boone/ banner elk

Peak fitness has been a life changing experience, I have been going to peak for 3 years. Not only can I not recognize the person who I was before, I am completely changed mentally. More confident, healthier than ever, and the best shape of my life. None of this would have been possible without peak and it’s loyal community. Thank you peak fitness!

I have been training in this gym for years, I always felt motivated because you can see how everyone is putting in the work to get better and everyone here is friendly and respectful. It has every machine you’ll need to complete your workout. the owner is very helpful when I am in need.

I noticed most of the reviews are older so let me give an update. I joined a few months ago. Rarely saw anyone working there. Lots of heavy lift dropping, grunting, and loud yelling ("Lunkhead" atmosphere) Not a really comfortablc place to go workout for a female. When I called to cancel my reservation they didn't even call me back. Finally got someone on the phone today. Unfortunately it's the only gym in town.

$25 for a week guest pass? Hell yeah. With everything being so expensive on the mountain, it’s nice to find a nice, family run establishment.

I am not a member of this gym, but I was for the other business they have. They also handled the U-haul rentals. So I rented a one-way truck from Banner Elk returning to Nashville, TN. The guy who I think must be also a manager was very helpful and patient for it was my first time driving a truck in my whole life. The size of the truck is rather intimidating for I am only 4'11 inches tall (should I say tall or short, lol?), but the guy was very patient in giving me the orientation I needed to keep me going on the highway in a safe way to my journey.I also learned that they don't allow the four legged to get on their treadmill since I called them and inquired for I have a breed mix Pomsky that is super energetic and I wish to train her to use a treadmill to calm her down a bit.

If you don't like old school gyms, you won't like this one. My husband and I happen to love them and we'll always pick an indie owner over a large chain when we can find one, which is not so frequent anymore. It's old and old school but has everything you need if you're a lifter, or a cardio person, or anything in between. Even had belts in a corner, a deadlift platform, extra bars. It's tight but not so tight that it's cumbersome to workout around other people. The owner is very friendly and helpful. There was a very friendly , quiet and non intrusive dog on the premise one of the days we were there. I actually made friends with him, but you don't have to, and he didn't bother anyone. They have day passes and week passes for out of town visitors, that was us, with very reasonable pricing. Overall loved working out there every day we were in town, and we looked forward to it each morning.

On vacation, had to get a pump in between hikes.Solid machine and free weight selection. Pretty laid back, was pretty loud during my sets and no one got worked up like at other public gyms. Definitely worth the week pass or drop in fee.

Fantastic body building gym - the type of place where all the guys are so busy admiring their own muscles they leave all the women alone. Has multiple power racks and lots of machines. There’s usually an old guy lifting in jeans. It’s surprisingly clean given the clientele. The womens dressing has showers and body wash and stuff. This place is so hardcore I saw hornets nesting inside the 100lb dumbbells. If I’m back in Banner Elk I’ll be back here.

Been coming here for a little over half a year. It has tons of the older iron equipment that I love and a unique variety of useful machines and equipment (and sauna). The owner and staff are very helpful and welcoming. The gym culture is chill and friendly, very easy to make friends and chat...or people will leave you alone if you'd rather not. Bring your own headphones if you don't like ACDC. (Wasn't a problem for me)Rented a U-Haul once and I had no issues at all. Would recommend.

$10 drop in fee, $25 for the week. Stayed in Boone for a week and was looking for a place to lift in between the day hikes. This place was purpose built to order for those purposes….it even has an infrared dry sauna and a super chill Pitbull that will come love on you in between your sets.
