I can see why Post Office loses money every year...Customer Service terrible...I never have a problem getting UPS or FedEx
they always go extra mile. I hope Trump privatizes it so they can hire people who care instead of people collecting a Govt check!

It’s stated on their website that this location does FBI fingerprinting on Saturdays starting at 9:30 am. We got there, no line and the post worker refused to do it, she said I have to come in another day.

Tracking indicated delivery for 7/19/25. Someone at this facility lied, stating “customer requested pickup at facility”. They were too lazy to deliver, since they close at 11:30 on Saturday. Poor and incompetent service.

If I could give a zero, I would. I had two urgent packages from Amazon that were supposed to be delivered on Sunday. Not only they were not delivered, but they were, in a matter of 1 hour, based upon on the tracking history, returned to sender!! I did not even have the curtesy option to come and get the packages from the post office? On top of that, I am calling during business hours the next morning and they do not answer the phone. If I could stop using USPS for all my shipping needs, I totally would. I am going to provide that feed-back to all and any shippers I deal with going forward even if I have to pay shipping or pay more. It is beyond poor customer service and sadly, it is not the only post office that does not deserve my business.

Just happen to see the reviews while checking the closing time and was shocked to see the many critical reviews. Not many say where they live or the name of the mail carrier. I live on Sugar Mountain and have the best mail carrier ever. I know Amazon must be an added burden, but you wouldn't know it with our great lady, with a happy hello every morning! No problems at all getting deliveries or regular mail. So just wanted to add my 2 cents!

The Banner Elk Post Office is WAY BETTER THAN Roxboro Post Office because they're friendlier & more polite, which is EXCELLENT SERVICE TO ME! ? ?

Maybe you will get your parcel, maybe you won't. You never know with packages going through this branch. I cringe when I see that my purchases have been shipped USPS and they have to go through this branch. I've had parcels returned to sender because the "new guy didn't recognize my address", expensive packages left on the side of the street next to the mailbox free for the taking, packages left in the neighborhood across the street, and told I need to pick up a package at the post office only to arrive and have them say nevermind we're delivering it. Is this branch run by postmaster or a circusmaster?

Is it possible to give 0 stars for Banner Elk postal service? I had 8 items specifically made for my children and had them sent to Banner Elk North Carolina, and was out for delivery on January 2nd. However, on January 6th, the package still never arrived and it was sent back to the Sender in Wisconsin. I called the postal service in Banner Elk every day to check on delivery, and every day they told me it was out for delivery. However, the package never came! This is the worst experience that I've ever had with the postal service delivery, and I would not recommend sending anything via USPS to North Carolina! I would recommend sending everything FedEx. Banner Elk postal service, let me and my family of 11, that were vacationing here for a week down!! The items were specifically made for my children to use while we were here on vacation! Very, very, disappointed in the the postal delivery in Banner Elk, North Carolina!! The least they could have done was give my phone a call, because they had it on file after I called everyday, and tell me the package was at the Post Office. I could have went there and picked it up. But nope, that didn't happen. Nor did the package get delivery very poor postal service!!!!!!!

THE WORST POST OFFICE IN NORTH CAROLINA.! For starters they give you attitude when you question them about not getting your mail. I was told by a female employee that she would have to "dig through packages" to find my mail. To which I replied "you mean do your job" then was promptly hung up on. I've had 4 packages in the past 2 months delivered to the wrong address. Then when confronted about it. The female employee. Which I'm assuming was the same one who hung up on my. Laughed and said that he must not be wearing his glasses. WTF!!!!! Seriously. This place is a joke and needs a serious staffing change.

Can I give zero stars?! Waited on 2 packages from Amazon before leaving town then I get a message from Amazon, “Unfortunately, USPS had an issue when attempting your delivery.” I quickly contacted USPS to find out what happened and got a text message, “No access to Delivery location.” I have a driveway that is clearly marked with large reflective numbers and a mailbox that is also clearly marked with reflective numbers. I was in my house with windows opened. No one drove up my driveway. No attempt was made to deliver. He lied and claimed that he made two attempts to deliver the packages. Apparently this driver was ready to call it a day! Shame on you!

By far the most inconvenient delivery service. Very few of my packages get delivered right to my door or in the mailbox, majority don't even attempt to get delivered. No pink slip, nothing. Packages will be "out for delivery" at 6 am then back at the post office marked "undeliverable" an hour later. My mailbox is at the road...I don't get it!! This is the second time my Amazon packages have been returned back to where they came from the same day they're supposed to be delivered. Ridiculous.

The worst! Have had several instances where packages get returned to sender. Mailbox is right at the main road, do I don't understand. Only about 50% of my packages get delivered, if i'm lucky. Then, they are absolutely NO help in store.
