Valle Crucis Log Cabin Rentals unfortunately seems to be unreasonably holding security deposits. My family and I stayed 2 nights, October 28 and 29, at one of their cabins - Soothing Waters. One week after we checked out, I received an email stating there were stains found on 2 sets of sheets. They attached 2 photos of sheets (see below). I immediately responded that I had personally removed the sheets before we left the cabin the morning of our checkout and there were absolutely no stains on the sheets. Therefore, I don't feel we should lose our deposit for something that we didn't cause. By the way, what are the chances that 2 sets of sheets would have stains? Furthermore, sheets being replaced should be considered normal wear and tear. I didn’t get a response from the email I sent, so I called Valle Crucis Log Cabin Rentals. I spoke with Emily who told me the reason it took so long to get the damage information to me is that she’s working 60 hours a week and that the weekend of our stay, 20 out of 29 checkouts had damages. Seems excessive to me. I'm betting I’m not the only person with issues regarding security deposits from this Valle Crucis Log Cabin Rentals. Emily also told me this is why they push their renters into getting the $40 insurance and if I had purchased that, this would be covered. This also makes me skeptical of their practices. I have no idea if I’m going to get any of my deposit back or if they’re keeping the entire $300, but I absolutely feel we should get back 100% of our deposit. Out of all the many, many times I've rented vacation homes in North Carolina, Tennessee, Florida, Virginia and Colorado, I've never had an issue like this.

Unethical and unprofessional. My family rented from this company for 2 nights in October 2022. From our experience and reading reviews from others (which I wish we had had done before we rented from them), the company is unreasonably claiming damages in order to keep the $300 deposit they charge. Several days after checking out, we were notified by email that black marks were found on 2 sets of sheets. We were told that they would be keeping the cost of 2 new sets of sheets out of our deposit. (Don't most companies replace their sheets from time to time without making the customer pay for them? Isn't that part of normal use factored in the price of renting?) Since the Valle Crucis Log Cabin Rentals requires you to remove the sheets from the bed before leaving, we can attest that there were no stains on the sheets when we left. We received photos, but those could be anybody's sheets. Not only that, but the cleaning crew handled them after we left and could have gotten stains on the sheets. There were no stains on the sheets when we left. The office assistant, Emily, informed us that we weren't the only ones with "damages," that out of 29 checkouts that weekend, 20 checkouts had "damages." Sounds a bit excessive to me.I also have a few minor complaints - they are very "old school" in that they don't have keyed entries. They have you go to the office to pick-up a key. And rather than leaving it at the house when you check out, you have to take the key back to the office. Like I say, that's minor, but a pain nonetheless. The state of their office gives them a very unprofessional appearance. They claimed in a rebuttal on a past review that they had an A+ rating with the BBB, but when I checked the BBB website, it states they are not accredited.I have rented all of the country, as well as other countries, and I have never had anything remotely close to this happen and have never dealt with a company as unethical and unprofessional as Valle Crucis Log Cabin Rentals.

We haven't actually stayed in the cabin yet as our trip is in November but Emily at Valle Crucis Log Cabin Rentals was FANTASTIC. She was such a big help when I was making my reservation and having service like that is a huge plus to me. Thank you so much Emily!! Can't wait for our trip.

My family came to town for a memorial service and we stayed in one of these cabins in Foscoe. I can’t speak for their other properties, obviously, but the one we stayed in showed a distinct lack of appropriate stewardship and authentic care. I get the sense that some out of town family enjoyed this cabin for a few years and has since lost interest, using it now as a cash cow. Please leave some houses for the rest of us, by the way.Scant flat pillows, low quality sheets, outdated appliances/electronics. Musty. Just a general sense of neglect. Superficially “nice” but not actually comfortable. Decor features a lot of moose for some reason (we don’t have those in the High Country but I can see why that’d be confusing to some)

My fiance and I spent a week at Log Heaven this winter. From our initial contact through check out, staff was very helpful, even keeping us informed of the local weather status for travel safety. The cabin itself was amazing. It was well kept and furnished with everything we could possibly need. We chose Log Heaven for the amenities and they did not disappoint. The peaceful setting was an added bonus. If I were to change one thing, it would be more room to play pool but that would be it! We highly recommend giving Valle Crucis Log Cabin rentals a try. Log Heaven was perfect, location was convenient to hit all of the surrounding areas and prices were reasonable!April 3, 2021 Update... We finally got to return to Valle Crucis and spent the last week at Deer Moments. Jim, Grady, and Amber were all very courteous and helpful. The cabin was well appointed and had breath taking views! We still recommend the town and cabins at Valle Crucis Log Cabin Rentals!
