Wilderness Run Alpine Coaster is North Carolina’s first alpine coaster, located in Banner Elk. It offers a fun, high-country experience all year round, open seven days a week. The coaster features self-controlled sleds that race down the track, providing dips, twists, and speeds up to 27 MPH. The ride is suitable for ages 3 to 103, making it a great activity for families and thrill-seekers alike. Guests can enjoy three consecutive rides by purchasing a bundle, but they should be aware that the bundles cannot be split among family members, which some find inconvenient. The ride lasts just a few minutes but delivers a thrill, especially at full speed without using brakes. Visitors often praise the friendly and efficient staff who explain the process well. While walk-ins are welcome, parking can be limited, and it is recommended to register for a check-in time to guarantee a ride. After the adventure, guests can relax at the gift shop or grab a snack or drink at the attached gourmet coffee shop. Many visitors mention the importance of making reservations, especially on busy weekends, to avoid long waits or being turned away. Overall, Wilderness Run Alpine Coaster provides an exciting and scenic experience, with reviews highlighting it as a highlight of their trip and a fun, memorable activity for all ages.

Pretty cool experience. The staff was very friendly and informative. The checkin online makes it easier. The instructions are clear. It’s kind of pricey for just 1 ride but still cool.

Frist this is a awsome place to go and do as a family trip. And fun for all ages. 2nd my wife dropping her phone and Isaiah and Amanda going out of the way to find it. To Isaiah riding the ride looking for it then walking it and Amanda getting a apple pin on it. We will be back again for sure.
