Let me start off by saying this is probably the nicest, best stocked hardware stores I’ve ever shopped. For that, I’ll give a generous one star. As for my experience I’ll say much was left to be desired. My wife and I made our way through the store yesterday around noon, exploring all of the nice inventory your store has to offer… I was seriously impressed by the marine section and was planning to stock up on some tackle and other goods. My main purpose of the trip however was to get some plumbing repair items for my boat, which were proving to be challenging to find. I made a couple trips between the hardware bins , and the plumbing isles looking for the right pieces. As I did this, I couldn’t help but notice how overstaffed this store seemed to be, there was help everywhere. Yet, not one person made a point to acknowledge me nor ask if I needed help. Normally, I would have been OK with this… What really bothered me was when two store employees started conversing in the next isle. One older lady, who had been putting up stock, or so I thought, and another younger man. It was when the young man bellowed out ,” Isn’t anyone working plumbing? I don’t have the time to be watching these two” …. That’s when I realized what was going on. I guess I just don’t understand why instead of assuming that we were thieves rather instead of just asking if we needed help . We may have looked a little weathered, but it’s been from months at sea. Not because we’re criminals, actually very far from it. I’ll give credit where it’s due, there was one man who asked us as we were leaving if we needed help. Though your store didn’t have the part we were looking for , he was very knowledgeable and steered me in the right direction. Parting words, Id get your people trained on how to properly treat your customers and handle loss prevention before they all end up at Lowes or Tractor Supply.

This place is awesome because I don't have to drive all the way to the other side of Morehead City to get what I need. It is a key business to have in Beaufort. Staff is friendly and helpful and I usually find a few options for what I need.

Reminds me of Ace Hardware back home. Because it's not a big-box store like Lowe's or Home Depot, it is more like a family feeling. If you come on a regular basis, the workers practically know you...and it's in Beaufort so I don't have to go across the bridge for a screwdriver!

I don’t know what happened but Ace Hardware cost less! Hydraulic cement is $19 and Ace is $13. A tube of auto body glaze is $12 and the same tube across the street at Auto zone is $3.50. I could go on all day. The owner got greedy!!

I needed an air compressor. I looked for it on the website and it had a different price than the one in the store. I tried to talk to the manager to ask why on their website they have a lower price and in the store they have a high price.. (the website says pick up in store).. so be careful with misleading prices. They could not solve

My husband and I are loyal Ace Hardware customers. The Beaufort store is always clean and well stocked. All the emoyees are friendly and helpful and willing to offer assistance.
