Some of the best hotdogs and burgers in Gaston County. Fantastic breakfast as well. Great, family-run place that has been a fixture in the area for a long time. If you're in southeast Gaston County, and looking for grill food, this is your place.

The food is absolutely phenomenal. They have the best burgers in town and the breakfast is to die for. It's 1 of 2 places in Gastonia, that I'm aware of, that serves livermush. The lady that takes your order Debbie, is very sweet and always tries to get to know her customers. Once she does she will have your drink ready, or will be in the process of pouring it, right when you approach the order counter! The rest of the crew that works here are.....the Byrum's. Travis, Greg and Libby is the matriarch of this family establishment. Ms. Libby's daughter Amy, made the best breakfast for years until recently when God decided he needed another angel. Now Amy's son, Travis has taken over that role and is filling some really big shoes but has done a superb job. You certainly can tell he's inherited the Byrum super talent that made each of them good southern cooks. This place truly makes you feel all warm and fuzzy with the great service, phenomenal food, and southern family owned atmosphere, what more could you ask for? I wish I could give more than 5 stars!!!!!! They deserve 5 + many many more!!!!!

You know those “hole in the wall” places that all the locals talk about because it’s the best in town? While this isn’t a hole in the wall it’s such a delicious local secret! The staff has the friendliest personalities and get to know you as a person. The food is homemade and delicious. Prices are great. I’d 100% recommend Byrums!

We have watched this parking lot be packed full of company trucks, and blue collar workers, pickups, and folks from every walk of life, every morning for the last several months. There are times when folks are waiting outside. Open Tuesday - Saturday, Byrum's has breakfast that starts at 5:30am, and lunch, closing at 2pm each day(they close at 1pm on Sat). They offer great prices on basic favorites from bologna and egg sandwiches, hash browns, and grits to cheeseburgers, cajun chicken sandwiches, and chuck wagon sandwiches. They even have hot wings and Philly cheesesteaks. We tried the seasoned fries, crinkle fries, onion rings, bacon cheeseburger, and cajun chicken sandwiches.I ordered it and got a 15 minute pickup time, and my food was ready on time, hot and fresh. Here lately, restaurant burgers are tasting like old meat, or freezer burned, or chemically; however, this burger was just like I cooked it at home. It was really good and the bacon was not that thin ready to eat bacon - it was real bacon. Cajun Chicken: Chicken breast, thin cut, with just enough spice. Both sandwiches had soft buns and fresh toppings (tomatoes, lettuce, onions).Onion rings: Real onions, not minced, really good. Seasoned fries: Kind of like Popeye's fries, but, better. You really can't mess up crinkle cut, can you? I assure you that you can, and these were perfectly cooked. It is understood why the parking lot is packed every day that the doors are open. It is delicious home cooked food. If I ever want a burger, and they're open, and I don't want to cook it myself, they will be my go to. Byrum's is locally owned, Libby, who I assume is the matriarch, works the register and is very friendly and full of knowledge. They had muscadine grapes, grown behind the store, and they are delicious! Everything is reasonably priced as well. (Sorry that I didn't get a good pic of the cajun chicken sandwich! Next time...because, there will be a next time! If you're in Belmont or Gastonia, try out this gem!
