Charlie and I just got back from Father/Son weekend. We had a great time experiencing all the activities, meeting the other fathers and sons and getting to know the staff. It was a 10/10 for us and we look forward to getting back next year. The staff really makes the weekend special, can’t say enough positive things about the culture there. Camp Rockmont is a special place!Rick Cartlidge, Jr.

Very cool place. Lots of running around and activity areas. All the buildings look in good shape and the grounds are impressive looking. Wish I was a kid again I would like to go there.

Camp Rockmount is truly a magical place! Although some of the captains aren't very nice, it is a camp. I stayed in a house called Corey land and it was so nice. The blob and the waterfront activities are so fun and the people running it or just so fun to be around.

Camp Rockmont was the most incredible, life changing experience for my boys, ages 10 & 12. The counselors truly care about the well being of the boys, and look for opportunities to help the boys grow. When my boys came home, they were more independent, felt closer to God, and were more confident after navigating new experiences without a parent around. They loved their skills - especially riflery, outdoor survival skills and disc golf. I HIGHLY recommend camp Rockmont!!!

My son will be 16 yo in Aug '23. He'd never been to camp and was ready to give it a try. He just returned from a 2 week session and LOVED it. His main concern prior to camp was that he'd be one of only a few older kids. It wasn't the case. And, everything from the other boys to the counselors to the activities, food...... he rated a 10. Highly recommend.

I have been going to rockmont for the past 3 years, I have loved this camp so much and made many friends and great memories, I can’t want to go again this summer and see my friends again. The camp has many fun activities such as a water slide, a floating trampoline, a zip line, and much more! And if you see other reviews that are negative and say things like “My child lost a lot of weight” or “My child was sick”, just know that this does happen, I have lost weight and gotten sick but the reason we loose weight is because we run around a exercise a lot, that weight being lost is good in my opinion. And as for being sick, a lot of the times most people just get a small cold. Thanks so much!

This camp for boys is so over rated and over priced. Can’t believe I spent $4000 plus an obscene amount of money for such nonsense. My grandson lost 15 lbs in two weeks and was sick as a dog. Not allowed to call us. Just wrong. Bathrooms were unsuitable, not private and far from bed at night. Dangerous in more ways than one. Wish I had posted this earlier so some unsuspecting parent would think they were getting something worthwhile.

It's a summer camp for kids, Craig M. The bathrooms are clean and adequate. The cabins have steel double deck bunk beds with steel springs. We kept our gear in our footlockers at the foot of our beds, the window openings have screen stapled across them and the floors, swept twice daily, are wood that is off the ground. It's CAMPING for kids age 9 thru 19. It's not the Hilton, it's as clean as the kids pay attention to the counselors, but again....it's summer camp and it's A WHOLE LOT OF FUN, AND FELLOWSHIP, AND NO PARENTS, AND VERY SPIRITUAL. It's the best 5 summers I spent in my entire life and 50 years later I still have awesome fond memories. Do your children a favor and find a way to treat them to at least one summer of fun, faith and fellowship in an absolutely beautiful place.

Beautiful location with views of the mountains and man-made lake, the camp is well maintained. The one area of improvement would need to be in the form of ADA accessibility.

Attended a Black Mountain College campus tour. It was fabulous -- informative and interesting. Our guide, Alice, was just outstanding. Made me want to learn more about Black Mountain College.

I went as part of the Y-Guides. Beautiful camp with lots of activities, small lake, and an interesting history. Be prepared to climb 100’s of steps if you go!

Ever since my kids started coming to Camp Rockmont I have appreciated the care and compassion---and enthusiasm!--that the staff have exhibited. My son had an excellent time there this summer. And I really appreciated all of the health precautions that they took before and during camp. What a wonderful place with a great staff and a fabulous location!

Fun camp with a wide variety of activities. My kids favorite is the "gully washer" water slide. It makes a nice getaway weekend from Raleigh when we go here with Y-Guides.
