Dollar General is a neighborhood option for basics with a huge parking lot. It is an older store with narrow and tall aisles. Some customers find the store itself pretty organized and well stocked with a lot of great everyday things, including a decent medicine section and seasonal candy. It is a go-to for specific items like cat food and treats. Friendly and super nice employees, including a manager who assists with grace and kindness, are noted. However, the store has reportedly gone downhill recently. A common complaint is severe understaffing, often running with just one or two employees who must do all the work, leading to long lines. Shelves are frequently bare of product for weeks at a time, and the seasonal section can be a jumble. While well lit, the vibe outside can feel sketchy in the evening with some characters around. The store clearly struggles to thrive with its current staffing levels.
The manager helped us tremendously while we were in a dire need. They were closing and very busy but she stopped and assisted us with grace and kindness! I can't thank you enough!

Friendly folks. They had what I need. It's an older Dollar General, which means narrow and tall aisles, but that's fine by me. I was able to pick up an eyeglass screwdriver, half and half, and s'mores fixings, which saved our vacation.
