Lake Tomahawk Park is a charming, peaceful spot in Black Mountain, offering a variety of outdoor activities and beautiful mountain views. The park is situated on a 16.3-acre area with a small lake that covers 8.9 acres, fed by Tomahawk Branch. Visitors can enjoy a walking trail that is just over half a mile long, which is the most popular feature of the park. The park also includes a pavilion with picnic tables and a small charcoal grill, built in 1993, perfect for gatherings. Amenities such as a playground, tennis courts, horseshoe pits, fishing pier, and public restrooms make it a versatile place for families and individuals. The lake is suitable for fishing (with a valid North Carolina fishing license), swimming, and even RC boat racing in designated areas. The scenic environment, with mountain views and serene waters, makes it ideal for relaxing walks, jogging, or simply sitting and enjoying the outdoors. Overall, Lake Tomahawk Park is a lovely community spot for recreation, family gatherings, and quiet moments.

Been going to Black Mountain for years. Never been until now. Have been missing out on a gem. Wonderful lake and path, playground, duck feeding and fishing.

What a lovely family place for this community. The scenery and facilities are sublime. We had a family gathering here with grandchildren and will definitely return.
