We were able to find a flat field by the park to fly our kite. This is a short, simple loop trail around the lake. ALL the dogs are there, so careful if you're afraid of dogs as I am. There's no escaping them.

It was an easy place to walk when visiting from out of town. It was very busy and parking was limited.

Black Mountain's heart beats strongly in the serene embrace of the lake park where I've made memories for 48 years. This cherished gem, nestled amidst North Carolina's mountains, offers winding walking trails where ducks playfully waddle, and the calm lake reflects the beauty of countless sunrises and sunsets. The echoing laughter from the playground, the rhythmic bounce of tennis balls, and the splashes from the public pool are the soundtrack of my youth. The clubhouse stands as a testament to countless gatherings, echoing the joy of past community celebrations. It's not just a park; it's a tapestry of moments, an invitation to create memories, and a timeless haven in our ever-changing world.Playground: Nestled right next to the serene lake, the playground is a dream come true for little adventurers. With slides to zoom down, swings to soar on, and climbing bars to conquer, it's a delightful haven for kids to unleash their energy and imagination.Restrooms: The park provides average public bathrooms, functional and convenient for visitors during their stay.Dog-friendliness: The lake area warmly welcomes our four-legged friends, making it a haven for dog lovers and their loyal companions to enjoy together.Picnic area: The picnic shelter, thoughtfully equipped with power plugs, provides the perfect blend of nature's tranquility and modern convenience, making it an idyllic spot for gatherings and relaxed afternoons.

Wheel chair accessible. Ducks, fish, and other wild life to be seen. Great walking trail around lake. Benches to sit on. Nice mountains views. Not far from down town and lots of shops and places to eat. Restrooms available and small play space for kiddos

This park is urban in the relative sense, being surrounded by the residences of the town of Black Mountain. It was a quality park. While views of the mountains are likely majestic, even on a cloudy day the misty sights were intriguing. A clean path runs around the lake, connecting bathroom facilities, tennis courts, and several other amenities. There were some dedicated parking spaces, but it was an easy walk from the town's business stretch as well. And why not, if you have the time?

We are visiting the area and my 11 year old wanted to fish. My wife did a quick search and found this park. We didn't know what to expect, especially with the water being muddy. We threw out brim hooks with works and started catching 6 to 8 inch catfish. This action was enough to keep him happy.Enjoyed watching the ducks swim and even had a muskrat that kept going back and forth in the water.

I only spent a short time here but it was a great one. There were at least a dozen bird species, so my bird nerd family loved it! (Specifically, we loved the green herons.) There were also gorgeous tennis courts, a community pool, and a nice walking trail that took about 15 minutes. The only downside to the bird life is that it smells very strongly of goose poop. Oh well! Still had a great visit.Dog-friendliness: This park is very dog-friendly, I saw about a dozen dogs out and about.

Absolutely Beautiful Park. The scenery was great. There is a clear view of the mountains. I would highly recommend stopping by this park to see its beauty when visiting Black Mountain.
