Could not be happier with the entire experience. We’ve been burned at another local mechanic so had some trust issues taking our only car to a new place but this is hands down the best repair shop in the High Country. They were communicating with us the entire time by phone, text, and email - super impressive! Happy to have a reliable mechanic at last!

I have never had an experience like the customer service at L&N. They are a new standard of professionalism in the high country! They provided detailed recommendations for repairs digitally and in hard copy, they are unfailingly courteous and were more than fair when my recent brake repair didn't qualify for warranty coverage. I don't have a second car not anyone to pickme up and they allowed me to use a loaner car during the repair so I could get to work.They treated me like a VIP and I highly recommend them. Lucas and the team here are amazing. It is truly that straightforward and simple. They practice a long forgotten/lost ideology of providing the services you actually need and then make the repairs correctly so you can feel safe on the road later. If there does happen to ever be an issue, they don't scapegoat or divert it. They bring right back in, figure it out, and get you right. You can trust them with your unaccompanied grandmother to not be taken advantage of.

I was absolutely impressed with the process in working with L & N. Their pre check in system was a pleasant surprise. I’ve never had such good communication from a mechanic before. We received a very detailed write up on their findings along with pictures. We we able to pick and choose what items to have them address, they kept me informed throughout and completed the work quickly once we agreed to the work to be done. Wow! When our SUV needed repair, a neighbor suggested L and N Performance Automotive. We’re about 45 minutes away so we were a bit hesitant for that reason alone. Now that we’ve had the L and N experience, I can’t think of a reason for using another shop to repair and maintain our vehicle. They seem to attract a really high-caliber team - everyone we came in contact with was so personable and each of them greeted us and made sure we were being helped. The shop uses software that tracks their evaluation of your vehicle and presents their recommendations - with pictures and narrative suggesting the remedy, estimated cost, and priority. You can elect to address all found issues or choose to hold off on some for another date. While your vehicle is in their care, you receive texts or emails with updates that allow you to drill into your estimate and see exactly where they are in the process - so cool and unique in my experience. Their work is meticulous and, I think, comes at a great price. We highly recommend them!Services: General repairs

The customer service is fantastic! It is rare and wonderful to be treated with such respect and courtesy ! They gave me frequent updates and an accurate estimate of when the work would be completed. The shop is immaculate and the technicians demonstrate great attention to detail and pride in their work. They even cleaned my car and left a thank you note on my dash! This is our new go to place for any automotive service!

I took my car to them for the annual North Carolina inspection. They said they needed to do a test drive which I have never had performed on my previous inspections. They also took several hours to do this inspection, which in the past has taken other businesses 15 to 20 minutes. The people were very nice, but I do not understand why they do their North Carolina inspections different from everyone else.

I recommend L&N Performance Auto Repair for those with newer vehicles or older vehicles in decent condition, if keeping repair/maintenance costs low is not a primary concern.Quality comes at a price and L&N was perhaps not the best choice for my old Honda truck, but the repair shop was convenient to my location which was necessary. Some things I liked? Customer service and communication from this repair shop was better than average and I particularly appreciated the digital updates. Although I was disappointed I didn't get a loaner vehicle, it was helpful to receive shuttle service to and from the shop. I also liked getting my truck back a little cleaner than it was when I brought it in. All-in-all, I rate L&N Performance Auto Repair a good choice for quality work.Services: Brake service & repair

My daughter, a student at ASU, brought the car to L&N after she brought it to an on-campus repair shop over the weekend because her car wouldn’t start. Lucas couldn’t have been nicer. L&N did an extremely thorough diagnostic check on the car, made the repairs I requested and got the car back on the road for a very fair price. I highly recommend the folks at L&N. I cannot express enough what a great company this is. It's run by people who genuinely care which is a rare commodity in today's world. My husband and I were celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary in Blowing Rock, NC and our vehicle broke down. We had no idea where to go to have it fixed since we were from out of state, and happened to pick L&N Performance Auto Repair to call. It was the best choice we could have made! The lady who answered the phone (Jade) was pleasant and tremendously helpful from the very beginning. She made arrangements to have a tow truck come tow us to their garage (the tow truck was from Hampton's - the driver was a very nice young man and very professional). To make a long story short, Jade and Shannon (a wonderfully personable and caring gentleman) worked us into their very busy schedule. Jason, one of their mechanics (another gem working at L&N), did a very thorough check of our vehicle, found the problem, and fixed it. While it was being fixed, we were given a courtesy car to drive by L&N so we weren't stuck without transportation and were able to enjoy some of the sights while waiting for the repair. Bottom line, what could have turned out to be a miserable experience instead turned out to be a wonderful experience as it showed my husband and me there still are some incredible and caring people left in this world. My husband and I cannot recommend L&N Performance Auto Repair enough. They truly are good, caring people who bend over backward to provide good service. Thank you, Jade, Shannon, Jason, and Eric!!

We were staying in Blowing Rock and getting ready to head back to Raleigh when the check engine light came on. The car seemed to be running ok but we didn't want to risk a 3+ hour trip just in case something might be really wrong. We found L & N on Google and it was close so we showed up at 9 am on Monday morning, hoping to get the car checked out. We couldn't have been more pleased. The staff in the office was welcoming, courteous and immediately helpful. The technician came out to the car within 5 to 10 minutes and checked it out. The diagnostic codes did not indicate a serious problem and he felt as long as the car was running well that it would be ok to drive back home. Despite my insistence they would not charge us for their time and effort. If we have any issues in the future when in the area, this is the first place we will stop! A big thumbs up to L & N!

Such a helpful and friendly group of people. Very knowledgeable and really helped us out of a jam. After 1200 miles from home the engine light comes on!!! These guys saved us and our trip. Highly recommended!

On a long road trip from Texas and check engine light came on in Boone NC, found L&N Auto Repair near our hotel and stopped in. Super friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Did diagnostic check and discovered not be a big problem. Didn't charge a cent for their time and effort - this kind of friendly helpful service is so rare these days. Highly recommended for their knowledge and neighborly attitude to their customers - the BEST!!

My experience with L&N was excellent. Even though it was my first visit, they treated me like a VIP customer.L&N employs a sophisticated and modern system for viewing estimates and paying online. The estimate includes many photographs explaining what is wrong (or right) with the car. It's a very professional experience, far better than I've seen even at large dealerships.Finally, when I picked up my car it was cleaned inside and out.
