Chef kisses OMG I was blown away by how amazing the food was. We got loaded fries, hush puppies, pork skins, and the best of all the heavy hitter. Guys is the best variety of delicious food especially the brisket and sausage. Oh not to mention I don't even like brisket but that melted in my mouth! If I could give more stars I would! Chef your food was so good I wanted to slap my mama!

So unsanitary! Wow, hot water not working and serving drinks in dirty glasses, I wonder how unsanitary the rest of the plates and silverware might be? No apologies for the manager or the server just nothing but excuses.

What a fall from grace. Woodlands used to be an absolute must-stop for anyone visiting the Blowing Rock area. Not anymore. If you knew and loved that Woodlands, I strongly recommend leaving your happy memories intact and not visiting now. They replaced the inviting wooden picnic tables with cheap black banquet tables, as if you're eating at a sad, dirty hotel (note the B sanitation grade). All of our food was cold and seemed to have been reheated poorly. The "hot wings" were just smoked wings where you're expected to add the sauce from the table to make them "hot." The fried okra was clearly not homemade, likely from a freezer bag. The ribs were dry and tough, and the shredded bbq chicken just tasted downright bad. The new owners have run it into the ground. The least they could do is rename the restaurant and make it abundantly clear that the old Woodlands is gone, to save the rest of us the trouble.

Very disappointed. I have loved this place for 30 years and as always, we got food from here while we are in town and it's nothing like it used to be. I will never understand the logic of buying a restaurant that is basically been an icon of the area for decades and the changing the way you prepare the food. I used to recommend this place to everyone who was making a trip up the mountain. I can't do that anymore.

The place look awesome but the food 5ucks.Old, dry, wasted, many times reheated meat. Old & cold fries.Don’t throw the cornbread to anyone’s head, will end up with a brain concussion.

We were a party of 9.The food and service were fantatic.The meats were smoked to perfection.Our favorites were the ribs and brisket We carried home chicken wings and fried pickles. The side dishes were bland except for the hushpuppies. The waitress was polite and kept our drinks refilled.

woodlands Bbg offers the best breakfast .their crispy chips is just but on another level. The location is amazing and the view is just awesome. This is one of the places i highly recommend you to visit

I've been coming here for years. I used to come here when it was known as The Grubstake Saloon. Their food is very good. And it's a nice atmosphere to hang out I need a good meal. Some live music going on also. Pleasant place.

I've been to this place many times since I was a kid. The quality went from good to okay. The portions are much smaller, and it's more expensive.

Our group of 4 had lunch here. Hunter, our waiter, was excellent. He was personable, attentive and efficient. 3 of us had the pulled pork platter and 1 had the brisket grilled cheese. The portions were large and everything was delicious! The pork was so moist and tender. Very friendly staff and a fun place to eat. So happy we stopped there!

Perhaps the BBQ is okay but the $13 smoked turkey salad consisted of head lettuce, half of a hard-boiled egg, chunks of turkey and dressing, Not even tomatoes or crackers or anything else. My mistake. Won’t order that again.

Ordered the Workers Lunch Special with a sandwich, slaw, fries and drink. The pulled pork had very good flavor. The bun could have been softer. There was A LOT of meat on the sandwich. The crinkle cut fries were lightly seasoned. The slaw was good. It was served on a rectangular aluminum plate. It was a good lunch at a good price ($10).There were only two guys doing everything. From seating guests, taking orders, preparing plates, serving food, refilling drinks, running the register - they did it all! They did a great job!

First time at Woodlands and it was amazing! Mair was my bartender and she was wonderful, charming and funny. The mac n cheese is AMAZING! I will definitely be back!

Woodlands was a great local lunch spot for us. Reasonably priced and good food. Very pleased with side options. Kid approved as well!

This is the worse sanitation rating I have ever seen. I have worked in the food industry and wow! Not only the sanitation score being a kicker but the staff couldn’t stay off their phones long enough to help. I’m guessing friends come and hang out behind the desk? Cause they didn’t offer to help when we walked in. The food was not like it used to be. Fries were burnt and not edible. My order was wrong and not worth $23 for 2 sandwiches and burnt fries. Sadly, we won’t be back.
