The “rodeo” was not worth the $15 a person. There was no bull riding and mainly consisted of nonstop talking and history lessons. The lincolnton ponderosa has a much better production.

This is a little home town rodeo!!! To be honest the talent is not all that great, but I am giving them five stars because of the things they stand for.

Not the greatest experience I've had at a rodeo. Personally, it was very dragged out and a whole lot was not happening. The Lincolnton Ponderosa is a much better rodeo, in my opinion.

Nothing compared to Stegals or Price's arena...lots of gaps between riders and lots of no shows

Quite possibly the most sanctimonious event I've ever been to. If you long for pomp and circumstance, this is it in spades!! Where to begin... After " We will be starting in 15 minutes', turned into 15 minutes followed by another 'we will be starting in 15 minutes' turned into 15 more minutes, we were asked to stand. The standing felt like an hour but it was probably just '15 minutes ' plus another '15 minutes ' which entailed a playing of Paul Harvey's, 'If I were the devil" in it's entirety, then some other record that was barely audible, add in a long winded prayer or two, a lame display ( 6 horses / riders holding the Christian flag, with a 7th horse/ rider displaying the American flag)with some nonsense riding / stirring up of the dust.. of course the National anthem was played while being sung by a local beauty pageant winner ( she was nice, attractive and I think she even had a good voice but the PA system unfortunately only seemed to work well for the obnoxious, self-righteous master of ceremonies who SO loved to hear his own voice).. A nice prayer, followed by the singing 🎤 of our National anthem would have been lovely but this event was a circus show. Almost forgot , There was the proud sucking up to several law enforcement officers , some of which weren't there and a likely misrepresentation of a bunch of stats on how crime has gone down dramatically in Shelby. Again this lasted entirely too long( at least '15 minutes') and as soon as the law enforcement officers had been showered with praise and adoration, they left the event immediately to continue lowering crime rates in Shelby ( for next year's event!). The was some rodeo history lessons thrown in for good measure,.. anything for the master of ceremonies to continue hearing his own voice. The actual rodeo competition was equally as lame as all the above mentioned. More time was spent attempting to round up an escaped calf or two from the pens, than any rodeo competition I saw. I could go on describing the absurdness and incompetence ( yet the loud mouth master of ceremonies repeatedly reminded us that the H Bar Rodeo is one of the finest in the country) but reliving it in my head is almost as bad as sitting through the fiasco in person. Next year, I may try the Strawberry ðŸ“Festival and the demolition derby! Even if it doesn't live up to the hype, knowing I'm not at the Bar H event, will be rewarding enough!!!!

I had the best time at the Rodeo. It was very family oriented and loads of fun will go year after year.
