WOW!!! I went to belk in the mall today and Mr. Blake Dollar was absolutely out of line! I got some pants that were on sale for 39.99$ he accidentally scanned them twice (that’s okay mistakes happen) I mentioned it and automatically got defensive and said it was a shirt I got uhhh I knew better and asked him to check and be sure because I didn’t want to pay 40$ for that particular shirt.. he said here I’ll restart I said okay thank you.. he literally looked at me and said if you are so good at this job maybe you should apply we are hiring!!!! And then called his supervisor!! I can not even believe this happened!! He made a mistake and that’s okay! I just wanted it fixed! He needs to go to angry management and then go to some kind of customer service training if that’s how he treats people! I will not go back there sadly..

Belk behaves like a poorly run Marshall's. Nothing but chaos. They lack a range of sizes in girls clothing and boys as well. They have sales but you can't tell if an item actually belongs on the sale rack or if its just disorganized. They have no school uniform options for girls either. Movable racks fill the aisles. And still their prices reflect something more put together. Boone has so few options for actual clothing stores, especially for children that its a shame Belk is wasting space pretending to be one.

I came to Belk to have my Estee Lauder foundation color matched due to my old foundation color being too light. As someone with a ton of freckles, has combination skin, and redness-it is DIFFICULT to color match my skin tone. The counter manager, Debbie, was awesome with being patient trying to find the perfect shade of foundation for my skin tone. She was honest with the shades and even asked for suggestions if I wanted a lighter or darker shade when previewing the current one. She was very personable, kind, and respectful and made the whole process fun instead of stressing about the 10 shades we looked at that all did not match. Once we found a matching color she let me blend it on my neck and face to double check that it was the shade I wanted. Debbie rang me up at the counter quickly and double checked the shade in the foundation box to make sure it matched. Would HIGHLY recommend going to see her for a color match if youre looking for a no stress experience with buying new makeup.

The Belk Store in Boone is always a mess. Clothes thrown over racks, wrapping on the floor and this when they open the doors. This is certainly not the Belk I used to know.

I love Belk' curbside pickup, and their app is user friendly. Their stores, however, are becoming lack luster giving a vibe of a discount retail store and not a quality department store. They still carry decent brands but miss the Belk of yesteryear.

While in the store, my cart which had my personal belongings in it got wheeled away when I had my back turned. I had to ask the customer service representative multiple times for help before I was able to speak to the manager. The manager was rude and spoke to me like an idiot, he didn't even pretend to care. He refused to check any security cameras despite there being a camera directly in the area I was shopping in. This was a very unpleasant experience and I don't plan on returning to this store.

It took a while to check out. 2-3 people were helping check out, but the cashiers had long, drawn-out conversations with other customers, while other customers waited. It made waiting patiently impossible.
