Rustic country interior. Superior customer service. Kind workers. Nice selection. * No dairy free and dye free candies. But a great selection for those that don't have allergies. * T shirts are a bit pricier than other tourism shops. But less expensive than most boutiques. * Great selection of a variety of things. Fun place to get lost meandering.

One of the most unprofessional places I’ve ever been too. From the moment me and my fiancé walked in we were looked up and down as if we weren’t good enough or didn’t have the money to buy anything there. One of the workers there followed us around as if we were going to steal something from the get go, we then went upstairs to see what they had and he proceeded to follow us upstairs. My fiancé really wanted this $300 Columbia jacket and we were prepared to buy but then noticed the worker following us around was having more co workers check the cameras on us.I told my fiancé to put the jacket back cause this was honestly just so unprofessional and was so judgmental of them. Sorry we didn’t fit your social class!

Great store and has the similar products and excellence that their other locations have. They sell clothing, outdoor gear, and many food options, like their apple cutter and baking mixes. Don't forget about their extensive, old-fashioned candy available to purchase by the pound!

This store has a little bit of everything making it a true General Store. One of the must see places while visiting Boone NC. Old school candy and throw back toys and local goodies and kitchen items on one side and clothing to keep you outfitted for a good hike or the super cold winters on the mountain on the other. Nothing is cheap by any means but where else can you get your candy sticks aka candy cigarettes?

A most interesting establishment. Certainly the variety of candy is extraordinary. Many unique items you don’t see any more. Be prepared though it’s $6 for a half pound.Prices on many items were hard to find. There is a large clothing selection on the first floor. Be sure to venture to the second floor for many other items such as shoes and gifts.Conveniently located in the downtown area.

I had visited Mast General Store once before many years ago. Without a doubt this store was a lot larger now. It was organized like before but noticed their store was laid out like a Vendors Marketplace. My wife Loved It! There was a literal plethora of antiques, collectables as well as new merchandise and we made two stops to make some purchases. It will definitely be a future place to visit, despite the numbers of people who were there, for it Was Very busy.

The saying, 'happy like kids in a candy shop,' came to mind when we went into the Mass General Store. It was like a walk through nostalgia and pieces of my childhood - those pieces of course being candy. The store sells more than candy but that was our focus. My focus also turned to the vintage Coke, Pepsi, Fanta and Bazooka signs that were before my time. Let me not forget Moon Pies for 5 cents.Above all the merchandise in all corners of the General Store you can find old toys, furniture, posters, books from yesterday's.The whole store left us with a happy vibe as we ate some super tasty gummy bears and other sweets that we purchased there.

Always love going here when we are in town. This time we brought our dog and the staff all loved on her. She got to pick out a toy.

This is one of the must visit stores when visiting the Boone area. From the old fashioned candies to the games we remember as kids. They also have a very nice selection of clothing. Staff is always nice and helpful.

Have always loved coming to mast General when I'm in Blowing Rock as they have great clothing and love the candy shop. However this past weekend really was absurd. I know people live their animals (in particular dogs)... but bringing them into the store was really something. One couple had two dogs that were the size of small ponies... not muzzled and brushing up against the clothing. The store smelled of animal.. not pleasant. I won't return because you don't know if these dogs are friendly.. any dogs.. please leave your animals at home if you need to shop...

Pretty typical mast general store. Smaller than some but good selection of outdoor wear and we love the bulk candy. Large shoe section and decent selection of knives.

It's a neat experience, but it's designed to rake in tourist money. They have candy by-the-pound, but all the packages are pre-filled and heavy so by the time you're child picks a few things, you've spent $50 on just candy! I never even let my child eat all that candy anyways. It's a neat stop, but make sure you bring some money or leave the kids!! ?

Lots of selections. A little pricey even for Boone, but they do have good quality items in most departments. Stairs make full access difficult. Associates are not that attentive...busy chit-chating among themselves. Felt like I was interrupting after standing there to ask a question.
