Such a gem. Everyone there was super friendly. The food was great, fresh fruit, and the apple butter for the toast was delicious ?

Great food! The burger I had was fantastic and my wife’s biscuits and gravy looked amazing. You get a good amount of food and I love how local so much of the menu is. We came in right at noon and had no wait to sit down! Great eating in downtown Boone.

Another charming restaurant in Boone. I got the chicken soup and a grilled cheese. The bread was from a popular local bakery.

The hostess that was working on the morning of 1/28/24 around 9:45’ish was extremely rude. She spoke to the next set of guests just as rudely as she treated us, so we decided to leave, and we went across the street to the Famous Toastery. This ended up being a great decision because the food and service was excellent. Melanie’s can have the greatest food in the world but it’s not worth the trip if the environment is hostel.

They were pretty busy so we did to go orders on our phones. They made everyone's food but missed mine. Not a big deal though because they instantly put it to the front of the line. Food wasn't bad, I thought the portions were decent and it tasted good. Just not sure if it was good enough for the price tag.

We have been at Melanie’s several times while visiting Boone! This visit we had about a 45 minute wait for brunch and realized after 30 mins that others coming after us were being seated outside when it had not been offered to us which was disappointing. Our server was attentive and the food was pretty good. Lots of vegan/vegetarian options. The house made veggie burger was one of the best I’ve had. The grilled cheese sandwich and soup was on the small size as far as portions go. The tempeh scramble was yummy! Biscuits were over baked so I would opt for another bread choice next time. Overall I would recommend and go back. Prices were on the higher side for the quality of some of the entrees but there is a large menu with lots of options.

The breakfast burrito was incredibly overpriced at $14 plus tax and tip. That becomes about an $18 burrito. It was only about 6 inches long and kinda fat, but over half of it was just bland potatoes and a giant flour wrap all folded and jammed up into the ends. Very, very, very disappointing for the price. I will not buy it again. After reading some of "Melanies" responses (the owner) to the bad reviews of her restaurant, I have decided to lower my score from a 2 star to a 1 star. She is rude and condescending in her responses, and she only has nice things to say to the people who leave her 5 stars. I have avoided this place for years because it's mediocre, and it's true that you will wait forever. Now, I will continue to avoid this place because the owner "Melanie" obviously doesn't care about making her business better. She'd rather run you out of town and make room for the ones that bow down before her. She is ironicly mocking people in some reviews and then sucking up to anyone who leaves a 5-star review. It's not worth the money for an $18 6-inch burrito and not worth your time to wait for cold bland food. Go around the corner on to Howard St to visit Brian at EVERYBODYS BRUNCHEON CLUB (less than a block away). Save time, money, and get better food w a much nicer atmosphere, manager, and staff. I have never had a bad time at EVERYBODYS BRUNCHEON CLUB. From the way Melanie acts towards her customers, she obviously doesn't want your business unless you're gonna kiss the ground she walks on. WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO SAY TO THAT MELANIE? Let me guess, you're gonna suggest that I just don't return, right? You are just a plain old mean person, and you would probably benefit from some PR training and anger management. Your lack of professionalism and innapropriately rude attitude makes me wonder how you treat your staff.Parking: All parking is pay parking for a dollar an hour.

We went on a Saturday for brunch and trying to find parking in the area was horrible. We had about a 1hr wait before a table was ready to sit inside. They had a few tables outside but it was pretty chilly. I had the tempeh scramble and a side of breakfast potatoes. The tempeh scramble was actually really good but the potatoes were just ok. My wife had the beef hash which she said needed a sauce and felt it was a little dry. Other than that the service was good and they did have a few gluten free options for me. Not a bad placeDietary restrictions: Gluten

I had lunch with my family at Melanie’s today and it was fantastic! I loved the laid-back vibe (and the trendy indie-music playlist). The servers were all super friendly and efficient. I had the bacon avocado burger with house made pimento cheese… it was to die for! Others had the Patty Melt and the Reuben, and everyone left satisfied! Looking forward to coming back to try the many eclectic-sounding breakfast and brunch items. This is a hidden gem in Boone! ???Dietary restrictions: Clearly listed options for GF diners.

Food was fantastic, when we finally got it. We spent about 45 minutes waiting for a table, which is OK. It took us about an hour to receive our order. We had to go up and ask our server about the status of the order at least once. Once we did receive our order, it was great and still warm.Parking: Parking is very difficult. We ended up having to part about a block and a half away. In general it's just cramped in this section of town, not necessarily the fault of the establishment.
