The inn was good. Front desk was friendly. Not many people around. Very secluded. Close to everywhere we wanted to go. Biggest complaint was the noise. The people above us were so loud. The beds were okay.

** DONT STAY HERE**Room is very noisy. Location is at the top of the takes about 15 min to just get up to it and back down to the city. Day time customer service rep is very helpful, patient, and kind. Night time CR doesn't explain anything, you have to ask everything. The only thing I was told without asking is that if I loose the room key it would cost $50. I'm sorry but would not recommend staying here at all.

We stayed in the grandfather suite for 3 nights and had a great experience. We didn’t really have to ask for anything but all of our interactions with the front desk were pleasant. They engaged with our kids every time we came in or walked out and we appreciated that. There are always little things that people can find to complain about and I feel like a lot of the negativity in these reviews is probably unwarranted. My family would definitely stay again. We didn’t try the restaurant because our kids are picky but it looked very nice.

When you don't expect to much because of SPA and Breakfast, then it is ok. The rooms are nice but very noisy. You hear everything around you in the Main Building. SPA: very cold water Pool, steam Sauna works, but not the classic Sauna. A lot of the gym Equipment doesn't worked.BREAKFAST: just one choice of Bread and a littlebit else. A fridge would be good in the rooms, then you can bring your own Breakfast. OUTSIDE: a lot of Stars and Steps are brocken. RESTAURANT: We can't try the Restaurant, because it was booked out and the Saturday 12/23 it was closed. In total, the best years of the Hotel are over.We were 8 years ago the last time there and had a great time. This time we were dispointed. Unfortunately!

After 3 visits and experiencing numerous maintenance concerns and being told lies by the manager and the head of the housekeeping department my husband and I have decided not to return to this location. The pool was too cold to swim in for our third visit. Both the manager and the head of housekeeping told us they could only keep the pool at 84 degrees because of the Health Department. We called the Health Dept. and spoke with the lady in charge and she said she never told them to keep the pool at 84 degrees. The state says they can keep it up to 90 degrees. We asked for a refund as the spa was not completely operational and were told upon check out it had to be approved by the manager. On our third visit the sauna did not have lava rocks in the heater (as it did not on the first and second visits) and the steam room was not working due to the mother board needing to be replaced. They had tried to fix the current mother board and it failed after a brief time. As this room had been non-operational for quite some time and on previous visits was full of cobwebs we wondered why they did not replace the mother board. After putting a review on tripadvisor and comment card given to the Inn I received a call from their Sales & Events person. I was told they had made a management decision for us not to come back to the facility as we had made too many complaints. I reminded her that we had only pointed out maintenance concerns that needed attention. She said it was a family owned business, they had lots of weddings coming up, asked us why did we come back for the third visit (I reminded her that the marketing manager in her comments after our 2nd visit on trip advisor encouraged us to come back) and she even suggested it was hard to find a repair person for the spa facilities and that perhaps I might know someone. I suggested that if they could not keep the spa operational then maybe they should consider not having one as there are numerous tripadvisor remarks about the spa and the pool temperature. When I read other reviews on tripadvisor over the years my concerns are not unique. I had already planned on not returning due to the unprofessional nature of the staff in telling us lies about the pool temperature. It is disappointing that a staff member would rather call me and ask me not to return, rather than deal with the concerns at hand of their facility to try and make it better. Wouldn't it be better to try and improve the place and encourage repeat business? I was even accused of making complaints so that we could get a discount on top of the groupon rate we got. I asked for a partial refund and it was denied. I am guessing they offer groupon rates as it is off season and hardly anyone was at the Inn while we were there. In addition the restaurant is not open on Monday and Tuesday, which they do not plan to change and I knew that and was fine with. On Thursday we had guests and they wanted to order food from the bar. The restaurant was again not open due to a film festival they were having. Guests of the hotel were not allowed to attend. On Friday there was a very loud party. My husband and I went down the hallway to close the door to minimize the noise. It is a shame as this is a beautiful location and the restaurant is excellent. My comments and review of the Inn were meant to help the Inn improve the guest experience. It is disappointing that they were not taken that way and rather have a staff person try to label me as a complainer and give several excuses as to why their facility was not up to par. Pointing out maintenance concerns or lies told by staff is feedback, not complaints.

An absolutely fabulous place to stay! Our room was exceptionally clean and smelled fresh. The water pressure was a godsend after a long day of travel. The cozy entrance with fireplace set the tone for a wonderful stay in the fall. We are close to town and some of the best hiking on the mountain. Cannot recommend this place more highly!

The inn at Crestwood has alot of potential but they seriously fall short. Start off saying the staff at the front desk and restraunt were great, polite and very accommodating. Our room didn't have a mini fridge so they brought one to our room for us. The room itself was just ok. Felt like I was staying at a motel 6 not and bed and breakfast inn. Beds were horrible, no housekeeping, and poor lighting. In the morning all they have is coffee and cold breakfast like yogurt, bagels and fruit cups. Seems like they are still in COVID mode because I saw reviews from several years ago talking about a full hot breakfast. The onsite restaurant was very nice and staff was great but it's very over priced for what it is. The menu was also kind of limited and absolutely no kids friendly options. The pool and sauna was nice but didn't enjoy the inside pool cause it was freezing cold even though it was supposed to be heated. Not to mention the access to the pool in the evening is very sketchy. It's in a separate building which is fine but there's a huge lack of lighting to get to it and the walkway was very rough and uneven. Not a good combination with very little lighting. When you drive up to the inn it looks beautiful until you look little closer and see broken gutters, peeling paint, broken shutters with peeling paint cob webs everywhere and just very run down looking. The location is very pretty but be aware there's only one other high end restraunt down the road for food. Other then that you have to go all the way back into Boone or go out towards banner elk. Over all this place could be Wonderful but with motel feeling rooms, over priced restaurant and lack of maintenance I don't think I'd stay here again.Rooms: Horrible beds, no housekeeping, poor lighting

Staff was very welcoming and kind, however, upon entering our room, we noticed a very musty smell. Even after running the A/C, it did not dissipate. Also, the bathroom sink took forever to drain, the walkway and stairs to the pool (located in a separate building) were very eroded, which made it difficult to walk on, especially with very little light at after dark. But the absolute worst part of our overnight stay were the beds, which is pretty important to us after a very busy day of walking and hiking. The beds were so old and lumpy, making it very difficult to get any sleep. We actually checked out early and when we did, we asked for a receipt, but were refused one.We later found out via our CC receipt that we were charged additional fees that were not presented when we booked the room, taking the cost from $183 to $231.00.For these reasons, we DO NOT recommend this inn and will continue to book with Hilton, where we've always received exceptional service.Rooms: Very musty smell.BEDS were VERY uncomfortable.Bathroom sink didn't drain well. Standing water.Safety: Walkway and stairs to pool were eroded and pathway was very dark in the evening. Very little light.Food & drinks: No food or drinks available.

Amazing staff. Friendly, personal and accommodating our stay. The restaurant they recommend is fantastic and they extended the pool hour beyond what they promised! Nice view in our room.

Here’s what those “resort fees” get you- no amenities (restaurant and spa both closed) and a unadvertised major construction project that makes it impossible to safely enter and exit the entrance by your room (see photos). And, if that isn’t enough to send you into a deep state of relaxation (ha!) you’ll love the chunks of debris flying by your window as the roofers throw them onto a tarp just outside your room. Awful!

Beautiful setting and comfortable rooms but services are lacking. Staff didn't seem to know answers to simple questions like is restaurant and/or bar open. One woman was very helpful when we checked in, but that was it.Food & drinks: The restaurant closed on Wednesday when advertised as open. Don't trust online information, call them.

My husband and I came to this property for a mid week getaway. The area, of course, is exceptional, especially in the early fall. The property is impressive on arrival. We stayed in a king suite in the main building. It was lovely, with a sitting area, large balcony, and microwave/ refrigerator- freezer. The room was clean, and updated. THe property has numerous maintenance issues such as poorly maintained walkways. The 'spa' facility has a nice heated pool for lap swimming, and a sauna, showers, and workout room. I don't think these areas are ADA accessible The restaurant was nice enough, although the area that we were seated in had the doors open. Apparently all of the other diners had gotten the memo to wear their jacket or sweaters! We had good wait service. I had a brined porkchop and my husband had a filet mignon. Both of us ordered our meat 'medium'. My pork chop was tough and not delicious (we were told that the brining - perhaps overdone?) Rendered the meat that way. My husband's steak was medium rare., not medium We switched plates, but even he did' t finish the chop and we didn't want a to go bag. We understand that tomorrow's breakfast is a light continental sort, with fruit, muffins, and bagels. Somewhat disappointing.
