Not only did the manager scream at a customer a few weeks ago in the presence of multiple customers who were patiently waiting in line to pay for their items due to an issue with their computer systems, but instead of allowing the woman to try to give cash to pay for the drink that she drank while shopping (mind you, the customer tried to explain to the manager that she was diabetic and her husband had opened the drink for her since she started to feel sick while shopping). The registers were down, which is a common occurrence for many customers who shop at this store, not to mention more then three times that I've heard from patrons who come to this location who have had to report to their bank about multiple charges from the same transaction- I have had this issue twice here and now only pay with cash. The customer tried to pay for the drink as the manager screamed obscenely that it was against store policy. "Granny", the cashier, as her name badge stated, looked as though she could care less about the way her manager was handling the situation. As the confrontation between the manager and the customer grew increasingly uncomfortable, myself and two elderly women waiting in line with me, began to try to gently ask the manager to please stop ridiculing the customer who was trying to pay for the drink without it being an issue of theft. No registers were able to be opened. The manager continued to yell at the customer across the store. Then, due to the fact that I intervened, the manager begin to scream at me. I told her that would not work for her and I left me extremely full cart of items there and left the store (I came back after a while and apologized to the friendly employee who witnessed the situation because she was obviously embarrassed by her managers actions, and knew me).Fast forward a month later, and I haven't visited the store one time since this unfortunate incident, I came to by Christmas crafts with my daughter. Upon checking out I noticed the manager and two other employees starting at me from the isle adjacent to the registers. Not only laughing, mocking, and staring intently, just enough that it caught the attention of my 11 year old who was watching said manager do all these things to her mother. We checked out, strictly paid with cash to avoid an incident with the cards, thanked the young man who checked us out and left.Once we left, we were getting in the car when a woman who im friends with came out of the store and proceeded to ask me if everything was alright. She told me that the manager get as well as a group of employees were talking about how I was banned from the store and not allowed. They stood at the window and the woman spoke to me and it was quite embarrassing considering that I never did anything to antagonize the situation that occurred with the extremely unprofessional manager and the diabetic customer who was just trying to ease her uncomfortably, hostile situation, and pay for her drink due to the faulty systems of the Bryson City Family Dollar/ Dollar Tree.Im not even someone who generally cares enough to stop what I'm doing and make a review, but this location is entirely out of the hand. The manager is running the operation like a middle school cafeteria, and if I was in charge of the regional operations of this store, I'd be embarrassed by how many folks in this community don't patronize the only dollar tree around because it's a literal uncomfortable nightmare.Im sure her job is stressful, so I had given her the benefit of the doubt, but after today I hope they remove her from that position and give it to someone who will not make a mockery of people in front of other customers and their children.

This store is clean, organized, and fully staffed. I wish more Family Dollar stores were like it.

One of the best dollar trees/ family dollars in the area. The staff is always friendly, there is a wide variety of decorations for each season, and they have a nice selection of books.

A nice lady was in the card only line. The register has an option for cash back. She clicked $10. She was told card only. She apologized. The manager came over and was very rude to her. The lady apologized again. The manager continued to berate her loudly then banned her from the store when the lady said “You are being rude.”There was no sign that said, “ Do not push the Cash Back” button. Several people witnessed this and apologized for the managers behavior.

It has been moved 3 doors down to the old Fred's Super dollar location and as such ...The current employees have pride in their store. Its been open right at a year and it's still well organized, the dollar tree portion (yes! No more Sylva trips!) is one of the "gentrified neighborhood Dollar Trees with the name brand overstocks and the full functional crafting section. Its everything that Dollar General in Bryson City just still hasn't been able to obtain even with their brand new location too.I may have been raised in Goodlettesville DG territory.....but I'm much more loyal to FD here in Bryson. Keep up the good work!

The store is amply stocked. They have nationally recognized snacks and drinks. Sadly they dedicate an entire aisle of the Dollar Tree side to phone chargers but I suppose that's the tourists driven market. It would be great if they offered shoes and sweats like other DT stores.

From how awful the old store was.....the new store (same shopping center - new location) is a breath of fresh air in retail options for Bryson City. Sure we pay 25 cents or 50 cents for the convenience of not having to go to Murphy, Sylva, or Franklin - but with gas hovering $4/gallon. It's worth it!Keep up the good work. The organization - cleanliness and friendly staff have me thinking they turned over new management for this area, also.(29 July 2022)

CHECK YOUR RECIEPT! Was overcharged $20 for items marked on sale. Blamed it on Pepsi and claimed they couldn't honor it or change it in their system. Sorry, but I'm not paying $6.10 for a 12 pack of soda. They issued me a refund and instead of giving it back to me on my debit card, they handed it to me in cash (nearly $60) in all 1's and 5's. Wasn't too happy that now I have to make a stop at the bank too, in addition to my long list of errands for the day.

This a brand new store that is now combined with Dollar Tree. The store is very nice upon entering. What is very concerning is that as a paying customer there are no pubic restrooms available. I did ask a clerk which informed me that they where closed due to the fact that someone had used it and used way to much toilet paper causing a problem. Sounds as if the employees are just to lazy to clean a restroom and would rather spend their time talking to each other.
