We had a family reunion at Hemlock Inn with 26 adults and 7 children. It was a perfect place for a reunion and the setting is beautiful. The owner accommodated us in EVERY way. Food was delicious, with plenty of it. If you want to go to a peaceful place where you can relax, this is it. The location is great for many other activities.

They simply don't make 'em like this anymore. Five generations of my family have enjoyed The Hemlock Inn over the last fifty three years. So what makes this 65 acre retreat so special? For starters, the Inn has clean, cozy rooms, each tastefully decorated with its own unique furniture. Or you may choose to stay in one of their comfortable wooded cabins. And you will absolutely love their incredible southern meals served family style at large round tables (breakfast and dinner, by the way, are included in the very reasonable room rates). Oh, and don't forget to buy one of their cookbooks with many of their traditional family recipes...except for their apple chips recipe which unfortunately will always remain a family secret. And you'll find that the amazing mountaintop views are even more spectacular when viewed from one of their numerous rocking chairs. Indeed, finding relaxation is not a problem. The Inn has its own well maintained hiking trails or you can take a 15 minute ride to the Deep Creek recreation area in the Smoky Mountain National Park for water falls, tubing, fishing; etc. The Inn has a game pavilion, gift shop, and a well stocked library with the facility's only TV. Located just a few minutes from one of North Carolina's most charming and fun mountain towns, Bryson City, the Inn is a great family headquarters for one of the State's premier pre-christmas events, the Polar Express train ride. But unquestionably, what makes the Hemlock Inn so distinctive are the wonderful owners, the Shell's and the White's, who have devoted so much of their lives sharing their talents and gifts with both old and new friends. Mort and Lainey are truly genuine folks who delight in providing their customer's with an unforgettable mountaintop experience. Give them a call. You'll be glad that you did.

Great family! Mort and the staff were very friendly and funny! It is a family friendly Inn. Breakfast and dinner was so good and delicious. One of the best parts - Mort picks children to ring the "bell" to call everyone to meals. The kids love it! This was our first time and we will definitely be back! We stayed at the Inn November 11-15, 2022. Thank you Mort & staff for making us feel so welcome!

The men of our church treated the ladies to a Christmas dinner at the Inn. The ambiance was relaxed and cozy, complete with a beautifully decorated Christmas tree and a roaring fire. The food was delicious, just like mama used to make, and the owners and wait staff were efficient and delightful. l highly recommend Hemlock Inn if you're looking for a reasonably priced, yummy meal.

Great people, great view, and even better food! Mort and the staff are so lovely. It's no wonder why you always meet people who have been coming for 25+ yrs (my family included).Edit: Left my headphones. The staff were very prompt and had them shipped to my house for not extra charge. So nice!

A peaceful paradise, relaxing no thrills inn, with the best food served any place, breakfast and dinner included. So convient, with covid its hard to find good open restaurants. This food is awesome, inn keepers very friendly and just perfect place for couples or families to unwind and unplug. We like the rondett, like your own cabin in the woods, but just steps to delicious meals.

Most relaxing, quaint Mountain Inn. The Southern Hospitality, Southern cooked daily breakfast and dinner was A-One. Mr.Mort (Inn Keeper) is a kind and loving soul. We have made our reservations for next year.

This place is magical! Hummingbirds, old-time charm, the best food (add it is included in the price), and the nicest people running the place you will ever find. What a GREAT GREAT place! Pull up, slow way down, and enjoy The Smokey Mountains!
