My son was in preschool at Children's House a few years ago - around the same time the child from the last post was a student. I felt like I needed to comment because my son also had a difficult time calming his body during rest time, and I'm so appreciative of the extra time and attention Miss. Virginia gave him as he worked to master this important skill. No child was required to sleep, only to calm their bodies and minds. Miss. Virginia would play soft music and sit at the teacher table where she would do quiet work during rest time. She would position my son next to where she sat and often rubbed his back while he rested and looked through books. He enjoyed snuggling against her legs and I appreciate that Miss. Virginia, like every other teacher at Children's House, addressed the individual needs of my child while using age-appropriated methods to transition him from napping to "rest time." She helped him learn to calm his body and mind, and also taught him to respect his classmates' needs for a calm, quiet and safe space to rest.Miss. Virginia established Children's House Montessori in 1993 and I am so grateful that her daughter Grace chose to take on the work of providing a warm and nurturing learning environment built on the principles of Maria Montessori. Children's House requires (and pays for) their staff to complete ongoing training and continuing education in Montessori methods and principles - it is one of the main reasons we chose the school for our kids.Online reviews are powerful, yet the only gatekeeper to publishing is the commenter's own moral compass. I strongly recommend the last commenter spend time learning about Montessori methods to avoid making untrue and unfounded accusations regarding the education Children's House provides. The website for the American Montessori Society is a good place to start. The early childhood education industry faced enormous challenges due to Covid and nearly 16,000 US childcare centers have closed in the last two years. The management and staff at Children's House worked tirelessly to stay open throughout the pandemic. They worked with families facing financial hardship to ensure continuation of care, even when it must have seemed impossible to stay viable themselves. The classroom teachers and staff put their own health and wellness at risk every single day so they could be there for the kids and families who needed them.Thank you Miss Virginia, Miss Grace and the entire Children's House community for showing up and being there for the kids in your care. Please do not let an individual commenter make you question the quality of care you provide or the good you are doing for this community. You are appreciated.

We transitioned from a corporate daycare to Childrens House Montessori when my daughter was old enough to enroll. We are never looking back. She loves going to school each day. We cannot say enough great things. We cannot wait for our son to be able to join as well.

We absolutely love this school! Our son has been here almost a year and he looks forward to going every day. They treat these children like family and it is such a fun and special learning environment.

I can’t say enough about how wonderful this school is. The school, it’s surroundings and even the learning materials are simply beautiful. The teachers are extremely kind and compassionate people who seem to truly enjoy what they do. My children have learned so much from them! I highly recommended this Montessori School.

This school has absolutely been the BEST place we've sent our almost 3 year old (and he's been to 3 different preschools due to moving house twice recently)! He seriously wakes up everyday and asks "school day mommy???" and cries if it's the weekend. Grace Harris is the sweetest teacher and our son just loves her so much. My husband and I couldn't ask for a more loving, nurturing, and mentally stimulating environment for our son, and can't wait to send our almost 2 year old there next school year as well. Hands down, we love it here!

We searched for a Montessori school when we moved to NC from OH where our daughter started Montessori at 2 years old and began reading at 3 1/2. We found this little charm and absolutely are excited to watch her expand her knowledge at this wonderful, caring school.

This is the best school! I toured a number of schools before deciding on Children's House Montessori for my son and I couldn't be happier. They are so sweet to the children, very hands on, and I've personally witnessed them taking special care with children that need a little extra love and reassurance. My son comes home every day singing about how much he loves Ms. Grace and the things that he's experienced and learned in his day. Exactly the caring, home-like environment I wanted when I decided to put my son into his first school.

Our son goes to this school and not only does he absolutely love it, his speech and all aspects of his learning have rocketed forward to the point where we can barely keep up. Our other son will be joining the school in a few weeks. I cant recommend it enough!
