My experience with this accounting service was less then satisfactory. The very first interaction with the staff was great. I called, explained my situation and was told to come in. I dropped off mine and my wife's tax documents and was told it would be around a week before our taxes could be reviewed and amended. A week later I hadn't received any word about what was going on with our taxes. I called and got a voice-mail. A representative did call back the same day and let us know our taxes would be a little while longer because they were "swamped." We agreed to wait. Then a week later we called because we hadn't heard anything about our taxes. Again we got voice-mail. This time we didn't get a call back. We called a couple more times with various questions. We did get one email that partially answered our questions. Today, Monday, we called to see what was going on. Beyond the intial interaction we couldn't get anyone to explain anything to us. So we called once more and again no response. After not getting a response we decided to go up to the Mitchell's tax service. I went in and asked what was going on with our taxes and was told that they had started to review them.(After almost 3 weeks) and it would be done within another week. At this point I decided to just go somewhere else. The staff member admitted that because our taxes had already been filed they weren't a priority which is why they kept getting pushed back. For others who hadn't already filed.(Basically we were pushed back because they make more money for filing taxes rather then amending them. Even though by telling us a week they made a commitment and it should have been kept that commitment. Also it would have taken most tax preparers roughly 2 hours to amend our taxes) That is totally fine though. They lost any business with me or my friends and associates. Most likely totaling over 2k a year. Bottom line is your word is your biggest asset with dealing with people. If you can't keep it people won't bother with you. Being reliable is valuable in a business. I'm just one person but that is money on the table you let walk out. This year, next. Etc. Hopefully the staff can learn moral values, beyond the cordialness and politeness. Do what you say you are going to do especially when you are dealing with peoples money.
