Worst shopping experiences ever here consistently. I truly dislike this store. My cashier today was beyond rude though, and I will not return to shop here again. After taking forever with the customer in front of me, apparently sharing their mutual complaints about whatever political stuff they were on about, slowly ringing up each item, Susan E. on checkout line 1 waved at me like I was a dog or something, then I guess accidentally rang up an item twice and needed a manager to clear the mistake. Now, I was already pretty annoyed, but I did smile and said “it’s ok, mistakes happen, don’t worry about it.” She turned away from me, tried to start a conversation with the next customer in line, then turned away from me again, basically treating me like I didn’t exist, or was just annoying to her. After a very awkward length of time (literally like 10 minutes) and 3 requests on the intercom a manager finally showed up and cleared it up, at which point my cashier finally addressed me with very sincere sounding apologies in front of the manager.
She stood with her back to me for a full 10 minutes while I waited and did not think that was weird!? Susan, your apology is not acceptable because I don’t think you even realise how rude you were to me. Why were you so chatty with other customers while I waited, but completely refused to talk to me? You just don’t like younger people something? I’m perfectly happy to not shop here anymore, seems clear this is not where I belong. Ingles prices gouging has been ridiculous anyway, probably best to just boycott the whole chain.

This is our home neighborhood Ingle's Market. It is where we go when we do our home grocery shopping and it is easy to use and well-stocked. They have a good staff and it is an easy in-and-out for us from where we live.

2/17/24 8:36- often I see this early morning in the parking lot. First time, it still being dark out, I tripped over this and took a nasty spill. The driver shouldn't leave his lift gate down while his vehicle is unattended. I understand the drivers reasoning (it prevents other vehicles from blocking his rear) but safety cones would be just as effective and wouldn't trip people the hell up.
