Canton Post Office has been a nightmare. First they told me and my neighbors they where going to stop delivering our mail because our road needed to be fixed. I had no problem at all getting my little Toyota Corolla in and out, but for some reason the road was hurting the Jeep of the person delivering the mail. So what I did was go get a PO box. I thought it was reasonable at $54 every six months. But that didn't last. I was informed it was going up 100% to $108 every six months. Of course I complained, and even wrote my local congressman asking why. I got no response, and shouldn't have expected to being the current Postmaster General is in the same political party he is. It doesn't matter to two rich guys the rate went up a whopping 100%. I decided to just pay it. The thing is I had no choice, because of automatic renewal. it was taking out of my checking, along with the money I had planned to go on a religious retreat with. No matter how I tried I could not turn off automatic renewal. It went up again this time to $111 every six months. I looked into getting another PO box and discovered Canton Post Office is more expensive than any other in all of Haywood, and Buncombe counties, and have been since the paper mill closed. Maybe they had to raise their prices because the plant closed. Clyde Post Office is $26 cheaper every six months and $52 cheaper every 12 months. Either way I could no longer afford a PO Box, so I had my dad come help me put my old mailbox up. That's been nearly two weeks now, and I'm still not getting my mail. Something about it may take up to two weeks, even though I have lived at the same address for 22 years. When I called to see if I had any mail today I was told I had one piece. So I went there only to be told they couldn't find anything. I guess they don't care how expensive gas is either. I would like to give a big thank you to the charity that paid to fix my neighbors and mine road. If it wasn't for them I would still have no choice but to pay for a PO box.

I have got to commend Judy at the Canton PO for the awesome help she gave us. We sent Christmas packages but unfortunately put the wrong address. She took the extra effort to intercept the packages and made sure a little boy had a Merry Christmas. Thanks for going above and beyond.

We NEVER receive any packages. They reject all of them, and don't attempt to deliver.

A freaking joke nobody to talk to forget customer service you call the phone number and this ignorant computer gives you the run around but yet the postage keeps going up and no service improvement I'm calling complaint to federal office

In-office staff are fine, but lord help you if you need stuff delivered to a parcel locker nowhere near your house. Package required a signature, which I wasn't aware of when I ordered (that part's on me). No effort was made to collect a signature or contact me to request one, other than the default "delivery failed" slip left in my box; this place has had my phone number and e-mail address for YEARS, and was provided again when I placed my order. I schedule redelivery the next day and provide my contact information AGAIN, explicitly requesting that I receive a text prior to attempted delivery and so I can meet at the parcel box to provide a signature (something that the print-out of the request passive-aggressively left in my box today conveniently omits).So I guess I'll have to collect my package from the post office because the delivery person doesn't feel like doing their job and doesn't have the self-awareness or respect for others to find a different job.

They don’t even come to the door knock to let you know you have a delivery they just leave a note in the mail box and and you have to go get your package yourself

The clerks are always friendly and helpful. Everything is kept clean inside and out. The entrance has a ramp or a few stairs to go in through the doors. It's usually busy there, but you'll still get the best service possible.

Post master ran my route today and marked a package undeliverable. Didn’t even attempt to knock on my door. I was home at the time of the “attempted” delivery. I drove 20 minutes (1 way)to find out it was still in her vehicle. Packages are constantly left on my porch clearly visible from the road. I wish there was an option to have everything delivered by UPS!!

As a family and a company we are shying away from retailers that use USPS for the last mile. USPS has, by far, the worst level of service, and, if allowed to fail, would. They will no longer deliver parcels to a road side house. Parcels have to be picked up. We have seen this pathetic trend nation wide, and, it's impossible to call USPS a package delivery service any longer.

As far mailing things & receiving things great. But if you have an issue like moving your mailbox, it's their way or no mail, regardless of your concerns.

Really wish they didn't close at 4:30. I wish they stayed open until at least 5 pm. Can't make it by 12:00 on Saturday due to work.

Packages taken back to post office multiple times with no legitimate reason ie- can’t access front door… front door had no obstruction or anything blocking access.No authorized recipient… no authorized recipient required no signature required that’s the most recent, packages crushed and crammed into mail box.

Whoever left a bad review, I am here to counteract. That review made me stress out over expediting my passport. I went regardless and had a great experience. I was also a bit disorganized and the lady behind the counter was very patient and kind.. . . AND, I got my passport two weeks earlier than expected! So, thank you! This postal office is great!
