Visited during winter and there was construction. We were notified about it but there were some inconveniences we were not warned about prior to check in. Not a major issue but if you are very sensitive to noise or have specific things you want to do be sure to call the hotel before you finalize booking to make sure everything makes sense for your travels.
We enjoyed the room and view!

Elizabeth went out of her way to greet us, inform us, grant our requests, and answer our questions. The bed was oriented toward the window, so we woke to gaze out on the sunrise! The only miss here was cleanliness. The linens were nice, but the carpet and couch had grimy layer that needed attention.
Nearby activities: Eat at Malama!! Everything about that place is fantastic! Food, coffee, ambience, and service were lovely!!
Walkability: Right onto the boardwalk and beach!
Food and drinks: Starbucks in the lobby.

Worst Marriott experience of my life. Do not stay here until you confirm there is no construction. They made no attempt to advise us of construction ALL DAY during Christmas week. Too late to find other accommodation! Do better Marriott.

I booked a non-refundable room and the winter storm made it unsafe to travel. Their guest services provided me a full refund. I appreciated the understanding and will be booking here on our next trip.

Construction work noise (some kind of drilling)between 0900 and 5:30 pm was almost unbearable, we were advised when we checked n but it was much, much worse. Room was olde w/ way used furniture. Bistro was not good, food seemed dated or dried out.

3 days and I will NEVER stay at this location again. When I was young the name Marriott was the best hotel in town, well not anymore. Pros: great location to the beach and bars, employees are courteous, hotel is clean, Starbucks taste great every time. Cons: This place sucks THIS IS THE MARRIOTT!!!! How in the hell do you not have a microwave in the room instead they put a microwave in the hall for all to use which is so gross and dirty. Bathroom door sticks so bad we had to kick it open to let the wife out. Hot water for shower doesn't last, you can't enjoy the ocean view because the sliding patio glass door is fogged up, the mattresses are so worn out u can feel the springs on your body when you sleep, no complimentary coffee or breakfast, good luck if you get housekeeping. Small children be careful on the balcony the cement is cracking THIS IS THE MARRIOTT!!!!!! They charge $200-$500 a day and even more in the summer and this is the way their hotel is run ummm no thanks I have had better stays at half the cost. For those who have left 5 star reviews your expectation must be really low sorry.

The hotel staff was great, the location is lovely.
But a VERY loud construction project is happening in the hotel. When we checked in yesterday (Sunday) it was extremely loud and it started again early this morning. There is not one word about this on the hotel website and an employee told me that Marriott told them they were not putting it on the website.

Our first room had water damage on the ceiling and some questionable black stuff on the wall. Additionally, we couldn't get the balcony door to close.
We called the front desk, and they had us in another room within 5 minutes. This room smelled a little musty, but it was clean.
The staff were awesome, and the beach access was unbeatable.
Nearby activities: There are lots of great restaurants nearby. Very few chain restaurants.
Safety: The area is a little sketchy. A homeless person was sleeping on the beach, in a sleeping bag, the first day we went out on the beach.
