We did an overnighter in an oceanfront room. I enjoyed the location, the easy access to the beach, however, the lack cleanliness took away from a positive experience. There was human poop all over a plunger and wall. The blankets felt a little sticky, and there was stains on a towel. The beds were comfortable and accessibility was a breeze. I hope they can improve the cleanliness and be more thorough with their rooms.

There’s good and bad reviews on just about everything. This place had quite a few bad ones. We didn’t experience anything like what other people have complained about. The room was immaculate clean and the one guy we saw working there was friendly and helpful. We got there early afternoon a few hours before check in and while our room wasn’t ready yet, he allowed us to stay parked in their parking lot while we walked the boardwalk and found food. Would definitely stay here again next time we come to Carolina Beach.

Booked this for our family vacation and we loved that for our first vacation we would have a beach view well we were disappointed it wasn’t a great beach view if we would have been on second floor it would have been a great view. Also didn’t seem like the floors were clean they looked cleaned but if you walked barefoot your feet were black. Also house keeping doesn’t come around which we didn’t like cause we didn’t know what to do with two full garbage bags as we stayed for a week and I asked for towels and for sheets to be cleaned and they gave us the new towels but I expected them to take the other ones and than handed us our sheets to change our own bedding which I didn’t agree with so we never changed our sheets.unfortunately I will be looking elsewhere when we come back

Came for 1 night only and during an off season with my family. It’s okay. I appreciate the amenities, the ample space in the room, and the location. Parking spaces were wide enough for our big truck. Walking distances to the boardwalk, shops, and food. Got excited we were on the first floor bc then we were closer to the beach. I was expecting to see the waves hit the beach, but sadly the sand dunes upfront were too high and you could hardly see the water. Biggest downside for me was the cleanliness. Almost felt like the room was only cleaned with 50% efforts. The floors felt sticky, there were trash on the floor (surrounding the bed) from previous guests, kitchenette was ok, and bathroom :( I felt kinda icky—the drains, faucets, shower head were grimey. The floor especially in the back of the toilet was dusty and had hairs :( In summary, not sure if I’d come back. Price was fair for what you get.

Room was extremely dirty upon entering. Barely cleaned between guests. Sheets were stained and when we asked for a replacement the sheets were stained worse than the first set. The property employee was extremely rude and did not let me finish my sentence when I brought up the issues. Cleaning staff was even ruder and used our code to enter our room an hour before checkout time when me and my partner weren’t decent. No knocking and no apology either. Nothing was offered as far as reimbursement. not worth the price.

Wonderful oceanfront location and the ocean view is gorgeous. There are two chairs on the covered balcony. We sat and watched the birds and saw lots of dolphins passing back and forth. The beds and pillows are comfy, everything is clean clean clean.

Soon as we walked in we noticed that the room was very dirty. We got a message that our room code did not work and there was a key for our room. We found that the key was just sticking out of the door. We found bugs on the bed (not bed bugs though). We found a razor from the previous guest next to the bed. There was a naked kid running around the entire place the whole day we stayed here. The kid also came down to the beach from their walk way FULLY NAKED. The child was about 2-3 years old and was leaving his room alone fully naked. Just walking around. Very disappointed. There was also pizzas boxes and drinks found under our staircase that lead to a lot of flies on our front patio. Location was awesome but I was very disappointed for the price. Would get my money back if I could.

We loved staying here. Quick beach access, large room and beautiful ocean front deck. I just wish it was a little cleaner.

I can't say enough good things about the motel itself as well as the staff who were more than accommodating!. I had a king size ocean front room. I would definitely return!
Food & drinks: Plenty of great food options near by. I drove everywhere daily for a week and used less than 1/4 tank of gas.

Horrible room. Smelled like urine. We only had to sleep there to get to the airport in the morning. Filthy, dusty and the AC didn't work.
Edited to add the reservation was under Winchester, And if you were so worried about negative reviews, maybe you should make sure your rooms are clean at the very least

The location is good and that is truly the only positive thing I have to say. The room was filthy. As soon as I walked in i was hit the smell of dampness and mildew. The floor has obviously not been cleaned properly in some time and my feet were black after making the mistake of walking barefoot. I quickly learned to keep my socks or shoes on. The bed sheets were stained, there was sand and debris all over the floor. The bathroom though is the worst part. I have never felt so disgusted when taking a shower before (and I grew up going to sleep away camp in the woods). There is a filthy plunger sitting on the ground and mildew covered shower head, the tub does not drain properly and the drain itself is rusty. Water pressure and hot water were also an issue. The room is super dark even with all the lights on ( I can only imagine how much worse the lack of cleanliness would be if their was adequate lighting). The wall behind the kitchen garbage was splattered with God only knows what. The longer I was in the room the more grosser out I felt. The only redeeming thing is it's cheap and on the beach but truly for another hundred dollars you can stay somewhere without the housekeeping issues.

We spent our 20th anniversary at The Beach House 8/9/2024 - 8/11/2024. The best thing about this place is the location. We're right at the beach (behind a dune) and a 10 minute walk to the board walk.
We planned this trip before Debby (storm) hit North Carolina so we are really hoping that is what caused the issues we had.
The room seemed like it has not been deep cleaned in quite some time as the bathroom was really dirty. I had to sweep as soon as we walked in because sand was everywhere. We could not get a live person on the phone for almost a week before we arrived as we knew the storm was coming. Since it's non refundable, we came anyways. They say they are available from 8am-4pm...we have been here 3 days and they have been unavailable. Our only communication with this place was a text we got as we were on our way. We tried to text and asked for toilet paper and nothing.
If you are coming for location, it's great. If you are coming for comfort... I would look somewhere else. The rooms need some love and updating for sure.
I would suggest brining extra TP, towels, and your own ice/ cooler because there is no ice and the fridge and freezer are very small. I would also ensure you get your access code before 4pm because we tried to help a family here for a wedding who arrived well after check in time and did not get their access code.
