I went in for a rear windshield wiper and my service person Josh was incredible. He offered to install it and show me how to do it, and had other information I was not aware of. His professionalism is an asset to the Advance Auto brand.

If I could leave zero stars, I would. I’ve been coming to this Advance Auto Parts for years, and normally I’m greeted and helped by an older gentleman with the mustache. Unfortunately for me today I was not able to get him, he was tied up on the phone. However, I did ask the man who unpleasantly assisted me if I could wait for the older gent the mustache to help me once he was off of the phone, and he said no!I didn’t know where my power steering fluid container was located and the unpleasant older man didn’t offer any assistance, as a matter of fact, he didn’t tell me I didn’t need it because it was still full, but he opened the bottle and charged me.What I’m most upset with is he wasn’t polite at the register, and when I asked if he could help me, he wasn’t happy with that! I just lost 15.00 because Mr.Grumpy didn’t want to help me.Again, I’ve been coming here for years, and hands down the older gentleman with the mustache is the most pleasant and helpful associate this store has.

Today I needed to replace the battery in my Subaru Outback. I had purchased the battery from the Advance store in Carrboro, so I returned there to confirm that it was still under warranty. Indeed, it was under warranty so the staff began the process of replacing it. Joshua is the employee who helped me. He didn't know what he was getting into. :-) He tested the old battery, confirming that it needed replacing. He took out the old battery and put in a replacement. He then went through the process of testing the starter, alternator and new battery ... and determined that the NEW battery was defective. (He said that in his 14 years that had happened only one other time.) Joshua then got another battery, put it in and ran the tests again to determine that all was good. But he noted that the cable terminal attaching to the battery's positive anode couldn't be fully tightened, setting off a good 40 minutes of work to replace the cable terminal. I could not have been more satisfied with the service Joshua gave me. He told me he has worked at Advance for 14 years. I see other comments here that attest to the friendly, expert help the staff at Advance in Carrboro regularly provide. I can confirm it is true!

I went in today for a battery and was treated so well. Josh took great care of me and my son. He was patient and kind. Answered all of my questions and concerns. It was so heartwarming to meet someone as caring as he is. It made a huge positive impact on my day and my life. Thank you so much Josh.

I went in for engine oil and got that in about five minutes flat. So why did the trip take twenty? Because Byron was so friendly, kind, and engaging that I couldn’t help but stick around to chat. A gem of a human and a fantastic, helpful employee. Made my day.

My car battery was incredibly corroded and dead. Came here to get the new battery and some tools to replace it. Josh got me a new battery and let me lend the tools to replace it so long as I left collateral. Since I'm in college I don't have the tools at home to replace it myself. I replaced my battery and drove my car there to drop off the dead one and return the tools. I got a free test done on my battery, alternator, and ignition. Josh is the best, and turned a headache into a 1 hour excursion, thats all it took to get the battery replaced. I highly recommend you come here for good and honest service!

While Advance Auto Parts is a nationwide chain, the location on Main Street in Carrboro has the feel of an independent auto parts store. We have been going there for years and the customer service has always been stellar. Today I went in to have a battery checked. The car had not been driven for 6 months and I had to jump it before going to the store. I suspected I might need a new battery. However, Josh did a test and said, although not fully charged, the reading didn't indicate that the battery was bad. He asked if I could leave the car for about an hour so he could take the battery out to fully charge it and then retest it. I was glad to do that. He called in about an hour and I returned to the store. He showed me that all the numbers were good and that I didn't need a new battery. I was pleased that I didn't have to buy a new battery, but I was also grateful for Josh's kindness and the wonderful customer service he gave to me.

I had a great experience with Josh today. My battery died this morning and he helped me pick out a new one and replaced it very quickly. He was very kind and helpful!!

Went in for a battery check and ultimately needed a replacement. I was helped by Josh and he was awesome! Got me situated with the right battery package and I was in and out of there in 20 minutes. Super friendly and helpful staff, would definitely recommend to anyone with car troubles.

I was in to Advance Auto Parts yesterday with an oil issue and they were so helpful. I have a leak and needed to top off my oil but I've never done it before. The gentleman helped me find what I needed and offered to come out to the parking lot and do it for me. It was so kind of him to help me out. He helped solve my problem very quickly. I would definitely shop there again.

I want to say a big thank you to the guy who helped me read the codes this last Sunday. My check engine light was on, it didn't look good with how jumpy my car was acting, he read the codes to me explaining what each one meant, and just generally helped me to feel calmer about the situation. I had a bunch of contradicting codes so he suggested that once we cleared them and it came on again to come back. I did that, at a different store bc I was out in Durham, we pinpointed what it was, I went to a shop, which didn't trust the codes totally and quoted me about $1000 in repairs. For the code that came up at autozone (crankshaft sensor) they said almost $600. I looked up how difficult it was to replace it on YouTube, got the parts from autozone (literally just a crankshaft sensor, and a socket wrench) and with $65 and less than an hours work my car is back to normal and doing well for now!! :) Thank you for helping your customers to feel empowered about taking care of their vehicles.

I purchased a set of wipers for my Honda - And was blown away by the service I received. Byron helped me identify the right set of wiperblades and helped install them as well. I would consider this place as the first stop for all UNC Students!
